Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, said, various skill development schemes are being implemented by Central Ministries/Departments but the data of girl aspirants is not maintained centrally. However, these schemes encourage the participation of socio-economic groups and also have 30% seats reserves for women candidates. He added, government has also taken steps to set various institutes like ITIs for women including girls across the country.
NSDC, a public private partnership(PPP) has been set up by Government to promote private training providers for setting skill centres. He also provided statistics of centres saying, as on 3 November 2015, 5.32 lakh candidates were enrolled through 6380 training centres across the country. Â As on 31 October 2015, 54,456 women candidates got placed out of 1,55,236 women who were trained in 2015-16 including 10,711 trained and 4,196 placed women candidates of West Bengal.
