Uber signs MoU with NTR Trust to provide skill training to drivers

uber-logoTaxi-hailing app, Uber, on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with not-for-profit organisation NTR Trust to create 20,000 new entrepreneurial opportunities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

As a part of the MoU, NTR Trust and Uber will collaborate to provide skills training and co-create development programmes for driver partners. NTR Trust will help source, train, screen and facilitate seed funding and bank linkages for youngsters, who will go on to become micro-entrepreneurs on the Uber platform. NTR Trust and Uber will reach out to potential candidates through awareness programmes and mobilization drives.

Additionally, on completion of their training, Uber will help eligible candidates procure loans from top financial institutions through specialised vehicle financing programmes, NTR Trust said in a statement.
