DGT imparts on-job training for candidates from different trades

The skill development and entrepreneurship minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy has urged all ministries and government departments to reduce ambiguities in the recruitment drives being conducted for trade specific posts.

Rudy has pressed for recognition of National Apprenticeship Certificate(NAC) as qualification for such posts. NAC is currently being imparted under the Apprenticeship Training Scheme of the ministry, as per a government press release.

The Directorate General of Training under the ministry imparts on-job training for candidates in 259 designated trades through 28,500 establishments under ATS. Following successful completion of the training, candidates acquire NAC after appearing in All India Trade Test for apprentices.
