5 lakh youth to get training under UP Skill Development Mission in year 2016-17

UP government has embarked on an ambitious programme for training 5 lakh youth under various schemes and programmes of U P Skill Development Mission(UPSDM). The registration portal of U.P. Skill Development Mission will be reopened for enrolment for the training programme and skill training of the candidates.

Alok Ranjan, Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh,  presiding over the meeting of the UP skill development mission on Tuesday  directed the officers to ensure skill training of at least 5 lakh youth through U.P. Skill Development Mission under various schemes and programmes during the  next Financial Year 2016-17 commencing from April 1.

He said that portal of UPSDM will be reopened not only for registration and skill training of new candidates, while also for removing the names of unwilling candidates who  registered earlier.

Chief Secretary chairing the 8th meeting of State Steering Committee under U.P. Skill Development Mission in which Pravir Kumar, agriculture production commissioner, Navneet Sehgal, principal secretary, information and Bhuvnesh Kumar, Vocational Education along with other officials were present, directed for cancellation of Flexi MoU  signed with Shri Lakshmi Cotsyn Ltd. as the company was not taking due interest in training. According to consent of Flexi MoU with Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. and Larsen&Toubro Ltd. along with other agencies for skill training under Skill Development Mission, the Chief Secretary asked to ensure minimum 80 % in-house employment by the concerned agencies after skill training of candidates.
