Apprenticeships Employer event organized by District Council to be held in Droitwich

A FREE event will be held in Droitwich on Wednesday (May 4) to enlighten businesses on the benefits of employing an apprentice.

The Droitwich Apprenticeships Employer event, from 12.30pm to 2pm at the St Andrew’s Town Hotel, has been organised by Wychavon District Council and the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership.

Those who go along will be able to learn more about key changes in legislation regarding apprenticeships, including the Employer Levy, hear from a company already reaping the rewards of hiring apprentices and find out more about funding available for apprenticeships. Advice and support will also be available on the day for companies wanting to take the next step and commit to taking on an apprentice.

Coun Richard Morris, Wychavon District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Growth and Housing, said: “We know a shortage of skills is the biggest threat facing the district’s economy. “Apprenticeships are an ideal way of helping fill that gap and train the workforce of the future.”

“This event will provide businesses with everything they need to know about taking on an apprentice and the funding support available. I would urge as many businesses as possible to attend.” To book a place, Businesses can email Kim Cook from Worcestershire Apprenticeships on kim@hwstpa.co.uk .
