Skill training programme launched under BADP for youth of International Border Blocks

A Skill Development and Capacity Building Training Programme under BADP scheme for the unemployed youth of International Border Blocks was inaugurated by ADC Yowa Topu in Koloriang and flagged off a batch of trainees for undergoing training in various trades outside the district and state on Thursday. The inaugural programme was organized at Government Town Middle School, Koloriang and attended by diginiteries such as District Planning Officer, Block Development Officer, Koloriang, public leaders and representatives of Vocational Training Providers (VTP).

The scheme has been implemented by Planning Department, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh through District Administration to upgrade the skills of youth living in International border blocks. New trades have also been added to the scheme this time. It is sponsored by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India.

Training will be provided to youth in trades like Automobile, Beauty Culture and Hair Dressing, Basic Computer, JCB Operator, Mobile Repairing, Tailoring and Tourism & Hospitality. The youth selected will undergo their training in several places depending on the availability of training facilities however those who have been selected for Automobiles, Tourism & Hospitality will undergo two months training at Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic College, Itanagar. Students who opted for JCB Operators will undergo two months training at Podhar and Podhar Pvt. Ltd, Silchar, Assam. Further, Damin ZPM Lokam Pabi inaugurated the Skill Development and Capacity Building Training Programme under border area, development Programme (BADP) on Tailoring at Community Hall, Parsiparlo on Thursday along with Lokam Baba, Anchal Chairperson, Damin Area and Phassang Bunghi, Youth leader of Kurung Kumey. The ZPM exhorted the trainees to take full benefit of such training programme and utilize regular skill. Bamang Chai, I/c District Training Coordinator also spoke on both the functions.
