National Skills Competition applications launched to promote Skill Development in Bahrain

Bahrain : Education Minister Majed Al-Nuaimi has announced “applications open for the third National Skills Competition”. The competition is held as part of the ministry’s interest in the development of technical and vocational education, embracing skillful students and assisting them to unleash their capabilities of innovation and excellence.

The minister explained that the competition is open for students from government and private school, academic and training institutes and civil community institutions. Where two student age groups will compete, the 12-16 age group and 16-21 age group, to compete in 17 skill areas, as given below:

IT software solutions for business
computer network system management
website design
mechanical engineering design
mobile robots
welding
automotive
auto bodywork
health care
cooking
beauty
hair-styling

He stressed the ministry’s keenness on staging the new version of the competition following the success achieved in the previous competition adopted by Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Institute for Technology, when 290 contenders took part in the event ran by 126 experts in 15 fields.
