NSDC partner AISECT allied with ALISON, Ireland to support Skill India, offers 750 courses through MOOC platform

In partnership with Ireland based ALISON group, AISECT, a Madhya Pradesh based education group, has launched a free online Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) and learning platform for various streams.

“The portal ‘aisectmoocs.com’ has been launched to support the ‘Skill India’ and ‘Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan’ movements. It offers the largest number of courses introduced on an Indian mooc platform till date,” an AISECT spokesperson said while launching the portal. The portal offers school level skill based higher education and over 750 diploma and certificate level courses. “The courses are for now offered only in English and Hindi and will be available in regional languages in few months.”

“In this blended model, students enrolled for an AISECT MOOC course will have the choice of studying at home or coming to the AISECT Centre to make use of the available facilities,” said Abhishek Pandit, director, business services, at AISECT. Initially, the course curriculum will be available in English and Hindi but more regional language content will be added to the MOOC platform over the next few months. “Regional language content will help in deeper penetration of the courses at the below district level areas across the country,” Pandit said.
