130 Crore budgeted, India’s First Augmented Reality Institute to come up at Varanasi

Varanasi : Augmented reality has been the talk of the town for a very long time and very soon, we will see that an augmented reality institute will be established in the country. The institute would come up at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency Varanasi. The institute would see the daylight as a partnership between central government with Eon Reality. The tie-up will help the institute a lot as Eon Reality will also be investing a huge sum of money in the establishment of this institute.

The total cost for the establishment of the institute is Rs. 130 crore and the company will be investing almost two-third of the money for the same. With the establishment of this institute, the students will experience a completely different scenario of learning. The students will also get hands-on training which will prepare them in an even better manner for the outside world. They will also be working on the machines that are not affordable as such for the institute but will help the students to gain an experience that they will remember for life.

Eon Reality is an augmented reality company based in the US and the Central government will take care of the whole process of the same. As it has already been mentioned that two-thirds of the money will be invested by Eon Reality, the rest of the money will be invested by the Central government.

All the students enrolling for the skill training that comes under the Skill India mission will also be made to use these high-end machines with the power of augmented reality. This initiative was started by the minister of Skill development and entrepreneurship, Rajiv Pratap Rudy along with National Skill Development Corporation.

The Managing Director of National Skill Development Corporation, Manish Kumar, said, “This is the next big thing in learning and practical training space and goes well with the Digital India initiative of the government. Eon Reality will do a demo of the centre in Gujarat during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit and finally come up in Varanasi.”

He further added, “The institution will be like entering a giant machine in the virtual space. Each trainee will be able to unpack the machine part by part and learn through virtual dissection. You can almost touch and feel the process. Like a real machine, it will throw new problems to trainees and, depending on your problem-solving capacity, will allow you to move further.”
