Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) : Lower Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Deepak Schinde inaugurated the ‘Skills to Succeed’ Training programme for the school drop-out and school going students of the district at AMYAA Training Hall, Roing. The first batch training programme was organized by the AMYAA, an NGO with support of QUEST Alliance, Bengaluru.
This skill development course is one of its first kind in the state where the target youth enrolled in the centre will go through three months ‘blended’ (mix of audio visual and facilitator led content for delivery of curriculum) foundational courses comprising of Communicative English, Life Skills, Career Development, Work Readiness and Customer Interaction Programme along with domain curriculum such as Entrepreneurship, Retail Management and Eco-Tourism.
In his address, Deputy Commissioner, Schinde said courses under the training are very essential to prepare oneself for the competitive world. He also interacted with the students and asked them to come out of the fear of failure and fear of being foolish before friends for committing mistakes while making efforts to improve. He appreciated the initiative of AMYAA for introducing the “Skills to Succeed” targeting mainly the unemployed youth of the state.
R K Paul Chawang, Secretary AMYAA made a PowerPoint presentation on activities report of AMYAA (2015-16) and introduced the concept of “Skills to Succeed”. It was attended by the facilitators of AMYAA and 28 trainees of the centre.
