Free residential course on solar panels installation

Indore : With India looking forward to increase its production of electricity from renewable source like solar energy, it has become necessary for the country to produce skilled manpower for installation of solar panels.

For this, residential diploma programmes have been launched by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, New Delhi.

Permission for one such programme has been entrusted upon Arihant College, which will be offered in collaboration with National Institute of Solar Energy and Mitcon Consultancy & Engineering Services Ltd, Pune.

“More and more organizations and individuals are opting for solar energy these days for meeting their requirements of electricity. And the number of such organizations and people are growing rapidly. But there is a huge dearth of skilled people in the field of solar panel in the country. Following this, the Central government is sponsoring programmes for installation of solar panels,” said Kavita Kasliwal, CEO of Arihant Group of Institutions.

She said that her college is among a few institutions that have been entrusted the responsibility of offering programme “Surya Mitra Skilled Development.”

This is a 3-month residential programme which would be offered to candidates aspiring to have a future in solar energy area. “The programme would be offered free of cost,” Kasliwal said adding that the last date to apply for the programme is December 10.

Candidates between the age group of 18 and 30 from any field can apply for the programme.

However, those having engineering diploma in electrical, mechanical and electronics or ITI pass-outs would be given preference in the admission process.

Total intake capacity is 30. The selection is a 2- stage process. In the first stage, a written exam would be conducted and later interview round would be organized. The candidates who will clear the written exam will be called for personal interview, which will be the final selection round.

Kasliwal said that Skill Sector Council for Green Job, which is an autonomous body of the Central government, would award certificates to the candidates, who will successfully complete the programme.

Prog consists of two sessions

The programme would have two technical sessions. The first session is one month in which basic electrician course is covered. The Second session includes course related to photovoltaic solar energy. The programme includes guidance from experts of the subject, detailed theory, laboratory, practical, visit to solar product producing enterprises, presentation and effectively use of solar projects etc.
