Yamaha India organized Seventh National Technician Grand Prix, a contest to judge workforce skills

Greater Noida : India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. (IYM) recently organized the seventh edition of National Technician Grand Prix (NTGP) at the firm’s Surajpur Plant in Greater Noida.

The 2016 iteration of the contest spanned across a period of three days from 30th November to 2nd December 2016. 20 finalists across the country competed for the title of “No.1 Yamaha Technician” in India for 2016. This is a unique contest which aims at improving the role of Customer Service Engagement. 1877 contestants across the country participated in this contest.  The finalists will be eligible to represent India Yamaha Motor in the World Technician Grand Prix 2018 (WTG) in Japan. 100 winners were selected from 4 Zones in Zonal round.

From the Zonal round 20 winners were selected to compete in the final hurdle held at Greater Noida. The contest will judge the candidate’s skill in the areas of “proper service”, “timely service” and “efficient service”. The contestants are tested by means of theory, Theory, Trouble-shooting, Repair, Final Inspection, Engine Noise, Wiring test on actual two-wheelers with speed, accuracy and skill of dealing with customers (customer and vehicle reception). India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd (IYM) won the No. 1 Technician Title in the Commuter Model Class at the 7th World Technician Grand Prix 2016 (WTGP) that was held recently in Japan.
