Manohar Lal Khattar announces new scheme to make women labourers, “self-reliant” and “employable”

Narwana : Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced a new scheme that would enable women labourers in the state become “self-reliant” and “employable”. Under this scheme, 50,000 women would be provided sewing machines free of cost, he said. Apart from this, 50,000 solar lanterns would also be distributed free of cost to the women living in the slums which do not have the facility of electricity so as to illuminate their houses, the chief minister said.

Besides, a number of development projects to the tune of over Rs 150 crore were also announced by the chief minister. The Chief Minister stressed on the need for skill development of youth to make them employable. He said that to ensure this, Haryana Vishwakarma University for Skill Development has been set up in Palwal in which 800 courses of one month to one year duration would be introduced. Recently, the state government had got approval from the Centre for the construction of 12 new National Highways in Haryana and work on these would begin soon.
