Madhya Pradesh Council for Vocational Education & Training (MPCVET) signed 27 Flexi MoU to boost skilling in state

Bhopal : Madhya Pradesh Council for Vocational Education & Training (MPCVET) organized a state level Sector Specific Skill Workshop for ‘Security’ and ‘Domestic Worker’ Sectors on 10th January 2017 at Bhopal.The workshop was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) Department of Technical Education & Skill Development Government of Madhya Pradesh Shri Deepak Joshi.

On the occasion, Hon’ble Minister Shri Deepak Joshi launched STAR Badge and stated that it is a unique concept, which provides recognition to the Security person wearing the Badge, thereby enhancing his status amongst his peers. This in-turn will motivate him to perform even better in the coming days. He complimented MPCVET for the idea and implementation of sector specific workshops.
Mrs. Kalpana Shrivastava, Principal Secretary Department of Technical Education & Skill Development said “The main target of the event was to share the latest changes and developments along with the latest technologies which are needed in the domestic worker and security sector.”

Shri. G.N. Agrawal, Additional Director, MPCVET said “The workshop aims to promote Skill Training in the Security and Domestic Workers sector in Madhya Pradesh.  MPCVET, with the support of DFID TA team, designed the Flexi-MoU in a way that it suits each and every industry partner and also encourages partnership between both ITI’s and industries. Gathering of National and State level Training providers, personnel from Sector Councils, Assessment and Certification bodies, Chief executives of various organizations and other industry associates from across sectors seeking skilled manpower made the event really meaningful”.

Shri D.K. Vyas, Additional Director, Directorate of Skill Development, MP said “This workshop is extremely important for bringing best out of the young generation with respect to skill development. The exhibition of the latest gadgets and dissemination of best practices was the key attraction of the event”.

Renowned experts from various fields were invited as panelist speakers.  These include Mr. Ashok Dohare, IPS, Special DG, SISF, Bhopal, Mr. Upendra Jain, IPS, Additional DG, Director Sports, MP, Col. Jawahar Singh, Commanding Officer, 3 EME Centre, Mr. Avneesh Sharma, GM, MPCON, Bhopal, Maj Gen Ashok Kumar Sakhuja (Retd), CEO, Security sector council, Maj. Gen. Manik Sabharwal (Retired), CEO Domestic workers council, Capt. V. P. Singh (Retd.), CEO, WWSO & President, CAPSI, MP, Ms. Meenakshi Jain, Helper4U, Domestic Placement Agency, Mumbai. Departmental officers Joint Directors Mr. Sunil Choudhary, Mr. D.S. Thakur, Mr. P.D. Gaur, Mr. K.C. Jain, Deputy Directors Mr. Sunil Desai, Mr. S.K. Nigam and Principal Model ITI, Bhopal Mr. R.K. Austin also graced the occasion.

One of the highlights of the workshop was experience sharing by Mr. Devendra Rajput, who is a certified security Trainer. Ms. Sonia Sahele, a domestic worker trained by MPCON shared the experience to upgrade herself as a driver, while another domestic worker Smt. Seema Nimodia also shared thoughts.

MPCVET team facilitated the signing of 27 Flexi MoUs which included 2 SSC MoUs and 25 Industry MoUs. The MoUs signed with SSCs aims at facilitating industry tie-ups; providing knowledge support for capacity building of trainers and students via guest lectures by industries, conducting ToT (Training of Trainers); curriculum development, content development etc.

The overall objective of the MoUs signed with Industries is to promote placement of students by promoting Job fairs, placement drives, OJT (On the Job Training), conducting career guidance tests; providing knowledge support by facilitating guest lectures, Training of Trainers and other relevant activities; facilitating industry visits for exposure visits.
