Telecom Sector Skill Council organized Industry-Academia Conclave to highlight opportunities for industry

Pune (Maharashtra) : An Industry-Academia Conclave was organized by Telecom Sector Skill Council in Pune to highlight various opportunities available to the industry and also to apprise the participants about the ongoing programs being conducted by Telecom Sector Skill Council under the Prime Minister Skill India mission. Many eminent personalities from both the Industry and Academia were present on the occasion.

The conclave was inaugurated by the Chief Executive Officer of TSSC, Lt Gen SP Kochhar who highlighted the salient features of the current action plans. During the meet, Mr. Pradeep Jaswani, Regional head, TSSC also spoke about the various dimensions of the Industry related issues. He also threw some light on RPL, PMKVY, Special Project and ESDM.

It is worthwhile to mention here that TSSC had signed an MoU with University of Chicago to make the youth self-reliant in the field of Telecom. Under the MoU stipulations skill training will be given to youth for the roles like Big Data, Block Chain, information security, etc.

While addressing the gathering Lt. Gen SP Kochhar said “employment opportunities are way higher for the skilled workforce. Manufacturing units are opening up in the field of Telecom, where demand for skilled workforce is quite high”.

Telecom Sector Skill Council has tied up with various industries like Intex, Dixon, Lava mobiles, etc. for various initiatives under the Skill Development program. As per the industry demand, TSSC provides training to the candidates and certify them to have a better livelihood.

Today’s competitive world demands trained certified and skilled manpower to address the challenges of growth and converting them into opportunities.  India has one of the youngest population in the world and by 2020, 64% of the population will be in working-age group.
