Haryana Govt. allocated 14,005 Crore to make youth educated, virtuous, skilled and ready-to-walk-into-industry

Panchkula : Finance Minister Abhimanyu claimed the state government has ushered in a new era of transformation of the system by providing responsible, transparent, accountable and corruption-free governance in the state.

Direct benefit Transfer (DBT) is one of the major milestones in this direction, under which about Rs 571 crore have been saved so far through weeding out ineligible beneficiaries under various welfare subsidy-oriented schemes, he said.

The budget also proposed a hike of 59.10 per cent in the allocation of funds for the sports and youth affairs at Rs 535.36 crore.

“I urge the youth to recognize their hidden talent and come forward to contribute their energy towards the state and nation building,” said the minister in his speech.

Expressing the governments commitment to make the younger generation educated, virtuous, skilled and ready-to-walk-into-industry, the finance minister said the Budget has allocated Rs 14,005 crore for Education in 2017-18 against the revised estimate of Rs 11,825.67 crore in 2016-17, showing an increase of 18.43 per cent.

Abhimanyu said the digital tools were being put to good use to empower teachers, students and other stakeholders in the schooling system.

The department has developed an elaborate MIS Portal to ensure fairness, transparency and accountability and simplification of administrative and academic processes in the school administration, said the minister.

Giving technical education “a decisive push,” the FM proposed an outlay of Rs 487.84 crore for Technical Education Department in 2017-18.

The state government has built five new polytechnics at Indri (Mewat), Malab (Mewat), Chhappar (Dadri), Mandkola (Palwal) and Shergarh (Kaithal).

Further, an MOU has been signed with the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India to run a tool room / technology centre as well as a polytechnic in the village Neemka (Faridabad).

Two new Government Polytechnics-cum-Multi Skill Development Centres are being set up at Panchkula and Rewari at an estimated cost of Rs 38 crore and Rs 16.85 crore, respectively, he said.
