Skills & HR Conclave theme “Education to Skilling to Employment : Designing a System That Works” held at Jaipur

Jaipur : A one-day Skills & HR Conclave was held in Jaipur on March 15 at the SMS Convention Centre with the theme “Education to Skilling to Employment: Designing a System That Works”.

Keeping in view continued increasing unemployment rate despite the highest youth population in the world. The conclave stressed the need for industry-education links to prepare skilled resources for their timely availability for employment.

Various speakers and stakeholders addressed the participants on the efforts and initiatives that could be undertaken for creating skilled workforce in Rajasthan as per the requirements of the industry and challenges being faced as also to share and promote best practices in the sector.

They concluded that, Industry does not require memory-based rote learning system but students with mastery over learning processes, learning attitude and employable skills. The skill development training programmes in the government sectors are needed to be well-designed and implemented. The skill training centres need to be accountable and performance based.

There is huge gap between fast developing industry and academia which needs to be bridged. There is a need for the teachers to get innovative and ‘innovation’ is needed to be taught as a knowledge area for every student. The incubation centers should be vitalized.

Internship education and training should be made compulsory for every college student irrespective of the stream. The idea of entrepreneurship and self-employment should be encouraged among college students.
