TCS iON Digital HUB platform to make Skill, Vocational and Competency Oriented courses easily available online on ICT Academy

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced a partnership with the ICT Academy, an initiative of the Government of India in collaboration with the state Governments and Industries, to support the Government’s goal of skill development. As a part of the MoU, the ICT Academy will deploy the TCS iON Digital HUB platform to make its Skill, Vocational and Competency Oriented courses easily available online to students and teachers across associated institutes.

By hosting its content on the iON Digital HUB, the ICT Academy will be able to make its rich content accessible to a large section of students who are otherwise limited to learning through physical training centres available only in specific locations. The partnership between TCS and ICT Academy is expected to benefit students from more than 1500 institutes by enhancing their employability as they take advantage of the e-learning courses available online.

The iON Digital HUB is an Online Learning platform offering Courses, Assessments, Communities and Events. It is an ideal platform for any individual who wishes to pursue education on a self-learning pace. The iON Digital HUB caters to learners across various segments right from K 12 to working professionals. It enables educators and trainers to deliver self-paced and blended learning which enables an individual to learn at any place and any time.

Commenting on the partnership, Mr. V. Ramaswamy, Global Head, TCS iON said, “TCS is proud to partner with the ICT Academy in supporting skill development amongst students. Over the years, the ICT Academy has developed rich content and this partnership will make this content easily accessible to students across the country.  More importantly, we believe that this collaboration will create more opportunities for students by enriching their skills and in turn making them industry ready. We are confident that the entire initiative will help us contribute to the Government’s ‘Skill India’ initiative and deliver positive economic impact.”

Mr. M. Sivakumar, CEO – ICT Academy said, “At the ICT Academy, our foremost goal is to create a positive impact in the education sector by reducing the gap between Industry and Institutes. While we have come a long way since its inception, the partnership with TCS through the deployment of TCS Digital iON HUB will help us take our efforts to the next level. Skill development is an important initiative driven by the Government and we believe that the current initiative with TCS will help us impact and enhance the lives of a large number of students across India.”
