Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University (HVSU) and Hartron Electronics Industries Association (HEIA) signed MoU to train 10,000 youth under ‘Saksham Yuva’

Gurgaon : After the Haryana government recently announced that it will open skill development centres at seven universities in the state, Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University (HVSU) signed a MoU with Hartron Electronics Industries Association (HEIA) in Gurgaon for opening a centre for training and making youth employ worthy under the Saksham Yuva Scheme of Haryana Government.

As per the agreement, 10,000 students will be made self-employable under the Saksham Yuva Scheme by either becoming empanelled resources or trainers for various government and non-government agencies in fields such as education and public service, pursue freelancing opportunities or join mainstream employment.

Under this agreement, HEIA will offer skill certification programmes, short-term certifications, job role specific courses, that are intended to increase skill sets of students and increase their chances of employment in government and private sectors.

The HEIA will provide three months job training to trainees who will be undergoing various skill development programs offered by the University.

According to Raj Nehru, the vice chancellor of the university, the programmes and courses are intended to make students job ready.

“To ensure candidates are ready for future job opportunities, an on the job training component has been integrated into the certification programmes. In addition, tie-ups with public and private sector companies are also being sought to hire those graduating from the programme,” Nehru said.

Nehru said Saksham Yuva Scheme launched by the Haryana government aims to support youths who are educated but unemployed.

He added that HVSU through its initiatives will engage youths in various certification programmes matching their interests, aptitude and also align them with potential opportunities to work near their home towns.

HVSU will also be tying up with regional industrial hubs and associations and to train the youth for local industrial requirements.

The programs main focus is that students can apply acquired classroom knowledge at work in a predefined structure to enhance their resources in the working sector.

Enrolled students will be given an allowance from the state government.

HVSU has also partnered with HEIA for leveraging its infrastructure for conducting the programme in Udyog Vihar Phase 1.

The move comes two days after the state government decided to launch a mobile application centre at Hartron multi-skill development centre in Udyog Vihar Phase 1 with a view to educate the youth about the benefits of mobile applications and widen their opportunities for skill development.
