Jaipur :The Rajasthan government on Tuesday appointed Commissioner (Skills, Employment & Entrepreneurship) Krishna Kunal as Registrar of the country’s first skill university at Jamdoli here.
The Rajasthan-ILD Skills University (RISU) was established through a Bill passed in the State Assembly’s Budget session last month along with a private university, Bharatiya Skill Development University (BSDU). The State government had signed an MoU with the Institute of Leadership Development for this in 2015.
RISU will foster skill training and employability of youth under the National Skills Qualification Framework. The university will also become an affiliating body for institutions engaged in skill and vocational training.
BSDU – established in the Mahindra Special Economic Zone – will provide skill-based job-oriented polymechanic training programmes.
It is India’s first vocational and education training centre based on the Swiss Dual System. Mr. Kunal told that the two universities would offer a variety of courses.
