State’s first Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) launched in Ukhrul by newly formed government

Ukhrul (Manipur) : In a bid to tackle the unemployment issue, Manipur PWD Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh on Tuesday inaugurated the first ever Skill Development Training Centre in the state.

It was inaugurated in the presence of National Coordinator of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vakas Yojana (PMKVY) Hemanta Larma and President of Tangkhul Naga Long Weapon Zimik at the International border District Headquarter here.

The minister assured the congregation that he would sincerely work in fulfilling the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in providing quality skill training to the youth.

The minister also believed that the new centre would help in ushering economic transformation for the state and particularly for the Ukhrul district.

He also assured that a stretch of road which is approximately one kilometre away from the main town road to the training centre will be repaired at the earliest possible time. Furthermore, the minister promised to make good quality toilets for both boys and girls for the training centre.

This is Singh’s first visit to the state as a minister after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led coalition government was formed in Manipur.

Outlining the vision of PMKVY training centre, Hemanta Larma expressed his commitment to provide all possible assistance in making Ukhrul training centre at par with any other centre in the country.

He also highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and encouraged the youth to acquire necessary skills to become a successful entrepreneur.

Weapon Zimik extended gratitude to both the minister and the national coordinator in bringing important asset to the youth of the district in the form Skill Development Training Centre.
