Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC) signed MoU with fitness brand Talwalkars to support Skill India movement

Mumbai :  In keeping with the core motive to facilitate and open employment doors for the trained and certified candidates in the fitness domain, Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC) and Talwalkars entered into a MoU for the placement of B&WSSC-certified candidates across all the Talwalkars fitness centres and the academies. The MoU was signed by Mr. Vinayak Gawande, Director, Talwalkars Better Value Fitness Ltd. and Ms. Annu Wadhwa, CEO, Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council.

Speaking about the MoU, Mr. Vinayak Gawande said, “We are delighted to partner with Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council as the On Job Training Partner for Fitness Training Academies across India. This will assist the Skill India Movement, an initiative by our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Talwalkars is a market leader in the fitness industry and this is one more step in bringing qualified and trained manpower to the industry.”

B&WSSC is launching job roles in fitness; these candidates, once trained, will get a placement opportunity at Talwalkars gyms across India and Sri Lanka. Talwalkars has also agreed through this MoU, to offer its gym floors for Summer Workshops, On-the-Job Training (OJT) and internships to B&WSSC candidates.

Ms. Annu Wadhwa, CEO, Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council, said, “B&WSSC is proud to tie-up with Talwalkars, the largest fitness brand in India and Sri Lanka, for recruitment and On-the-Job training of B&WSSC-certified candidates. B&WSSC’s efforts towards bringing vocational education like fitness at par with formal education will greatly strengthen with this association. This tie-up is further validation of the work B&WSSC is doing towards standardizing the fragmented and unorganized beauty and wellness industry, further adding credibility to B&WSSC certification.”

She further added, “With the growing awareness about preventive health, the demand for fitness professionals is increasing. This tie-up will go a long-way in making the industry aspirational and help promote the youth to take up fitness as an intentional and conscious career option.”
