Minister of state technical education and skill development Deepak Joshi informed in a press conference on Wednesday that to attract the youth towards skill development ‘Rozgar ki Padhai Chale ITI’ is also going to start from May 11.

He added under the programme students from classes 9 to 12 were contacted and would be given options to participate in the ITI courses. The motive of the programme is to reduce the dropout rate and provide skill training.

He added in the RPCITI programme short term courses from 15 days to 9 months would be taught. The students can take admission according to their requirements and interest.

The skill development department had prepared the courseware according to the need of the industry and industrialists had helped them to prepare the courses. After training the students could get employment in NIFFT, Eicher, CPA, ITTR and in other companies, he said.

The department has focused on women skill development, as recently 40 girls were given mechanical training and 27 adjusted in the industry with the remaining 13 wanting to start their own work.

Principal secretary of the department said the state government was promoting technical education, but it should be of quality. Last year the department had found 103 private ITIs which were on papers and were not functioning properly. The department had started a de-affiliation procedure against them. In 2016, new 12 and in current year 22 ITIs had been opened in the state. To provide proper technical education the department had recruited 463 teaching faculty, while 500 more faculty members would be recruited shortly, the PS said.
