Taluk-level Job Mela to provide skill development and employment for rural unemployed in Karnataka

Mysuru: “In order to provide skill development and employment for rural unemployed youth, a taluk-level job mela under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) will be organised,” said ZP Deputy Secretary Shivakumar Swamy.

Addressing a preliminary meeting at Zilla Panchayat, he said that both Central and State Governments would release funds in the ratio of 60:40 to implement the programme through Government and non-Government organisations. He said that under this programme, the ZP CEOs will be heading District-level Mela and TP CEOs will be heading Taluk-level Job Mela. Rs. One lakh grant was allotted to organize job mela in the Taluk level and 200 candidates had to be provided employment.

Swamy also instructed the officials to hold taluk level meeting and finalise the date and venue for the Job Mela in a week and to prepare the list of candidates, companies and institutions providing skill development training. ZP Project Director Rani, Lead Bank Manager Shivalingaiah, DHO Dr. Basavaraju and others were present.
