New Delhi : The CISF has launched a unique course, with help from the Tourism ministry, to train the wards of its personnel in obtaining skills of food production and hospitality.
The four-month course is part of the skill development initiative of the government and the ‘Hunar Se Rozgar’ (employment from skill) scheme of the ministry.
A total of 31 sons and daughters of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawans and officials, in the age group of 21-27 years, will be trained by the ministry’s Ashoka Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management in the first phase.
CISF Director General (DG) O P Singh inaugurated the course yesterday here.
“The training will be provided by the Ashoka Institute free of cost to the CISF wards and a stipend of Rs 2,000 per month will also be given to them apart from taking care of their logistics.
“On completion of the course, the participants will be awarded certificates which will enable them for placements in hospitality and tourism management sector,” CISF spokesperson Deputy Commandant Manjit Singh said.
The DG said such courses are aimed to help and ensure jobs for the children of the jawans and officers of the force, who are themselves posted away from their homes for a long time.
“We are planning to introduce more courses and include more and more children in them,” he said.
The 1.80-lakh personnel strong paramilitary force guards 58 civil airports of the country apart from other vital infrastructure in the aerospace and nuclear domain among others.
