Skill development mission kick started “Talaash – In search of Innovators” to map grassroots innovators across the state

Srinagar : In order to promote the budding innovators, the Jammu and Kashmir State Skill Development Mission (JKSSDM) today kick-started, first-of-its-kind in J&K, campaign “Talaash – In search of Innovators”. JKSSDM has started registration of promising innovators in the field of science, technology, art and craft etc.so that their extraordinary work is recognized and promoted at local, national and international level.

“Whether it is a growing startup with an innovative product or service, or a social enterprise with a business model, JKSSDM would like to showcase the innovation and at the same time through fostering linkages with corporate and venture capitalists make the innovation sustainable and market oriented”, said Honourable Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education & Youth Services & Sports and Chairman Governing Council, JKSSDM, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari.

“The innovative products should be able to make an impact in making positive changes in the lives of people and at the same time be sustainable and easily replicable,” told Imran.

The state wide campaign will be organised at district and sub-district levels including educational institutions targeting all innovators and widely publicised through print, electronic and social media. Besides registering the innovators, JKSSDM plans to exhibit selected innovative works, mentor and train grassroots innovators and entrepreneurs, and foster their linkages with relevant industries.

The Jammu and Kashmir State Skill Development Mission (JKSSDM) was constituted by the State to train the underprivileged, unemployed, unskilled and semi- skilled youth of the state and connect them with the job market.
