20 Lakh youth to get employment through skill development initiatives in the state : CM Raghubar Das

Ranchi : Presiding over the second meeting of Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society (JSDMS), Chief Minister Raghubar Das asked JSDMS officers to ensure 20 lakh jobs by 2022 and do committed efforts to make a large number of youths for the purpose.

The CM said that on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand, 25,000 youths will be given appointment letter. The main programme will take place in Ranchi, in which he himself will participate. At Ranchi, youths of Kolhan Division will be given appointment letters. Simultaneously, programmes will be organized at other divisions including Hazaribagh, Dumka, Medininagar, where ministers in charge will give appointment letters. The CM said that great opportunities have been created in Health department. Japan needs 1 lakh skilled people and we can skill the youths to avail the opportunity.

Das directed that the children of 6.5 lakh building construction workers should be connected with education and skill development. Education is necessary to remove poverty. Children of poor people should be enrolled with schools and grownups with skill development. The government will pay the fees and provide them uniforms. Shramik Mitra can be considered for taking help. He also directed to increase pension of building construction workers from Rs 750 to Rs 1,000.

The CM said that under the Tejeshwini scheme, girls in between 14-24 will be skilled and made employable. Tribal and scheduled caste girls should be focused. 100 unemployed from each Panchayat should be selected and uploaded on website. The employer should be talked to employ the youths.

The CM said that big malls, schools and hospitals are coming in the State at great level. Hence training should be given keeping this in view. If needed, a State level policy should be made to be followed by all departments. He said that in the Sahid Gram of the state, no one should remain unemployed. Youths of these villages should be made employable. Officers should send teams in these villages that will make list of the unemployed who will be skilled as per their interest and employed by conducting job fairs in Shahid Villages.

CS Rajbala Verma, Additional CS Amit Khare, Principal Secretary to the CM Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary Urban Development Arun Singh, Principal Secretary Social Welfare MS Bhatia, Secretary to the CM Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Secretaries Ajay Kumar Singh, Aradhana Patnaik, Avinash Kumar, Amitabh Kaushal, Himani Pandey and others were present in the meeting.
