MSRLM signed MoU for Art of Living’s Youth Leadership Development Program to strengthen skill training under DDU-GKY

Mumbai : Working out to develop leadership intellect in youth beside core skill development, Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission forged first of its type partnership with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s Art of Living’s Youth Leadership Development Program for it DDU-GKY program.

An Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between MSRLM and Art of Living for providing Youth Leadership Development Program to DDU-GKY candidates on pilot basis. Followed by distribution of certificates to the candidates who have completed their training, through hands of Smt. Pankaja Munde, Hon’ble Minister for Child and Women Development.
According to Smt. Pankaja Munde, the DDU-GKY program is very encouraging for rural youth. The youths despite having the required capabilities, face hurdles due to lack of financial stability or many other problems. For such youths this program will help them achieve financial stability thereby enabling them to achieve basic requirements of their family as well.

She also said, to succeed in life one not only develops through education but also needs to develop mentally. Therefore, alongwith the DDU-GKY curriculum a course on The Art of Living is also introduced to develop candidates personality. Minister Madam also pointed out that the candidates should not feel insecured about their poor background and feel proud of their parents, she inspired the candidates to fight against all odds and move up the ladder towards progress and be proud of themselves. She also motivated them by asking them not to get addicted to things which may go against the objective of the program. Stick to your goals and constantly strive to achieve them.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is a scheme implemented by Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM) for upliftment of rural youth. This program not only helps candidate achieve confidence but also help them achieve employment and thereby financial independence, as said by Smt. Pankaja Munde, Hon’ble Minister, Child & Women Development.

According to Mr. Vishwasrao Devkate, If our mind is stable we can create wonders. He advised candidates to make good use of this platform to achieve success.

According to Smt. R. Vimala, While getting education not only focus of getting certified but focus on acquiring more and more knowledge. Do self introspection, select courses as per your passion and take full advantage of the available opportunity for your betterment.

State Mission Manager, Mr. George Barnard Shaw, told reporters about the importance of linking the skill development with intellectual development of rural youth and their strategy of preferring residential over non-residential training for skill development of rural youth.

Amongst the present dignitaries were Smt. Pankaja Munde, Mr. Vishwasrao Devkate, Chief Zilla Parishad, Smt. Asha Buchke, Member Zilla Parishad, Smt. R. Vimala, CEO MSRLM, Mr. Daulat Desai, CEO ZP, Mr. Dinesh Doke, PD-DRDA ZP, Art of Living’s representatives Mr. Shekhar Mundada, Mr. Amol Yewle, Mr. Sarang Jagtap, along with other dignitaries present on stage.

The dignitaries present on stage along with the already placed youths shared their thoughts. A final vote of thanks was given by Mr. Dinesh Doke, PD-DRDA (Pune).
