New Delhi : With an aim to contribute towards the ‘Skill India Program’, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) has launched its 19th Vocational Training Center at Rohini, Sector-11 for Children, Youth and Women from the socially disadvantaged sections of the society residing in the Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters & resettlement colonies.
This center will run in association with Ashima Foundation and offer training in Computers, Stitching and Tailoring and will benefit over 250 youngsters and children annually. The center was inaugurated by Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power-DDL and Monica Singhania, Ashima Foundation in the presence of beneficiaries and students of other Vocational Training and Women Literacy Centers run by the company and more than 150 people including representatives from NGOs, WLC instructors, ABHA (Self Help Group) members, VT center students etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Praveer Sinha, CEO&MD, Tata Power- DDL said, “Skill Development is crucial for youth empowerment. We at Tata Power-DDL, plan to expand the reach of our literacy and vocational training centers to as many people as possible and diligently contribute toward societal empowerment. We continue to work towards uplift of the underprivileged section of the society in JJ Clusters by empowering them through vocational training.”
