Telangana Govt targets to spend 170 Crores to develop skills of 9992 Scheduled Caste candidates

Hyderabad : The Telangana Government has targeted to train 9992 Scheduled Caste candidates with an total outlay of Rs 169.86 crore under Skill Development Programme during 2017-18, Energy and Scheduled Castes Development Minister B Jagadesh Reddy said on Monday.

Replying to question from the members in Assembly, Mr Reddy said that the state government will have a tie-up with National Academy of Construction, National Institute of Hospitality Management, National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Kerala Electronic Development Corporation limited and Apollo Medskills to take up Skill Development programmes to provide placement/employment by acquiring employable skills in different activities duly identified the following areas.

The proposed areas included are placement oriented three months finishing school training programme for unemployed SC Civil Engineering Gradutes, house keeping and laundry training programme, bakery services, Panchakarma Ayurvedic Spa, Air Hostess/Flight stewards, IT, Hardware, Electronic and Network courses, embedded software related, energy sector related, DTP, Web designing, sales and marketing, plumbing and security guards. The government will spend Rs 1.7 lakh per candidate, the Minister said.
