Panipat/New Delhi: – In order to achieve its ambitious target of certifying the skills of more than 2 million persons till 2022 in the apparel sector, Apparel, Made Ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMH-SSC) forged partnership with Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative series.
The inauguration ceremony of the said programmes was held on 9th Dec. 2017 at the Panipat Center, by Mr. V.K. Raizada, ED IOCL, Mr. S.k. Gogoi, GM, Mr. A.P. Sharma, GM Sh. J.A.N. Corera, GM-HR ware also present during the ceremony. The initiative has also been appreciated by Mr. Vikram Virk, Sarpanch of Baholi Village and Mr. Satpal Singh, Sarpanch of Sithana Village of Panipat district.
Dr. Roopak Vasistha, Lauded the effort of the Prime Minister in bringing the Govt. of the masses and thanked all concerned in organizing such a nice programme for men and women of the Panipat. Under the programme free of cost training would be imparted to the men and women in Panipat and would then be assessed and certified under the job role self Employed Tailor, In Line Checker and Packer. Efforts will also be made to provide placement to these trained candidate.
Dr. Roopak Vasishtha also mentioned of the enthusiasm which has come in the skilling ecosystem after the formation of skill ministry and it’s taking over by Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan and assured the participants of the fullest support of the AMHSSC in their noble efforts.
Mr. V. K. Raizada, ED IOCL, expressed his happiness on this occasion and wished that with the help of IOCL’s CSR initiative, youth, especially female candidates at Panipat, would get immensely benefitted and would get employed. Other speakers termed this as historic and appreciated the efforts being made under the CSR initiative by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
AMH-SSC has been given the mandate given to the Council includes creation of National Occupational Standards, Affiliating Training Providers in Apparel Training and assessing and certifying the trainees of such institutes/ Training Providers, creating Labour Market information System and improvise the training delivery value chain, including third party assessments and certifications. The Council is spearheading the skilling work in the sector by participating in the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and Various other schemes of different states including the non PMKVY schemes. The council envisages to impart training to the youth of the country not only through various government schemes but also through its corporate social responsibility imitative (CSR).
