Jaipur : Doctors, nurses and paramedics in Rajasthan are all set to get training in modern emergency life support techniques as the Centre has granted fund for setting up three skill development centres for them.
The three centres to be established in Jaipur, Bikaner and Ajmer under the human resource development for emergency medical services scheme will offer training in national emergency life support course, an official said on Friday.
A team from the union health ministry has already visited two medical colleges in Ajmer and Bikaner. The ministry will contribute ₹2.60 crore each the three centres as 100 percent grant. A minimum of 10 faculty members will be trained as master trainers along with 10 nursing teaching faculties for the for the National Emergency Life Support Course at every medical college-level, the official said.
Sources said a memorandum of understanding would soon be signed by the union ministry, directorate general of health services (emergency medical relief) and medical colleges on behalf of the state government to set up the centres.
Bikaner-based Sardar Patel Medical College’s principal RP Agarwal said that the centre would have skill stations to impart skills on life-saving interventions.
The skill development centre would replace multitude of courses like Advanced Trauma Life Support Course, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Course and Advanced Pediatric Life Support Course, which are copyright courses of foreign organisations, Agarwal said. Sardar Patel Medical College is one of the three health institutes selected for setting up such centres.
The setting up of the centres is a part of the central government’s ‘Make in India’ drive.
