Newly launched Opportunity Platform to provide skill development and employment information to Arab youth

UAE : A new programme launched by the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aims to offer a novel way to help Arab youth with opportunities that can translate into career prospects.

The Arab Youth Opportunity Platform, launched recently, will attempt to connect youth with jobs, scholarships, and skill development programmes, as well as volunteering opportunities, contests and business incubators that can help bring creative marketable ideas to fruition. The platform currently has 2,000 opportunities, and will seek to add more as it identifies the needs of youth, develop their capabilities and improve deficiencies in the opportunities currently available.

The platform provides a roadmap for the youth to identify the requirements of the job market and the opportunities it provides for them to realize their potentials and ambitions. It is also an important database for the concerned authorities to identify weaknesses in the opportunities available, and to develop plans and programmes to address them,” Sheikh Mansour said.
