Maharashtra Chief Minister announced Rs 300 crore skill development park in defense sector

Nagpur : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday announced that a skill development park in defense sector would be established with an investment of Rs 300 crore with the help of Tata group at Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (Mihan).

Fadnavis was speaking at the Youth Empowerment Summit organized by Nagpur District Collector’s Office along with Fortune Foundation. District Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Mayor Nanda Jichkar, Rajya Sabha MP Vikas Mahatme, all MLAs and MLCs, Divisional Commissioner Anup Kumar and District Collector Sachin Kurve were also present.

Stating that in the coming five years digital economy would attain utmost importance, Fadnavis said, “State government will be starting startup eco-systems in 12 districts including Nagpur.”

Pointing out that while industries face lack of skilled manpower, youth are in need of employment, the CM said, “Startups will provide a solution in this regard. And summits will help in the process.”

Referring to Magnetic Maharashtra Investor’s Summit, the CM said, “Maharashtra is a leader state with 50 per cent of investment in the country. The Magnetic Maharashtra Summit has resulted in attracting investment worth Rs 16 lakh crore and will provide employment opportunities to 35 lakh persons.”
