7.5 lakh youth to be given self-employment linked skill training next year : Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Bhopal : Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that employment-oriented training will be imparted to 7.5 lakh youth next year. In addition to this, the trained youths will be linked with self-employment.

Chouhan gave clear instructions to the officers to make proper training arrangements for the youths. He was reviewing the Youth Empowerment Mission at Mantralaya on Thursday. Minister of State for Technical Education Deepak Joshi, Chairman State Skill Development and Employment Board Hemant Vijayrao Deshmukh and Chief Secretary BP Singh were present in the meeting.

While giving instructions to the officers, Chouhan said that the entire training target should be achieved. Quality training should be imparted to the youths to enable them to establish their self-employment. He instructed for weekly review of training and for conducting regular meetings of State Skill Development and Employment Board along with the district units. He clearly mentioned that a concrete scheme should be prepared to achieve the training target. Besides this, implementation should be ensured by preparing a weekly roadmap.

Rs 1,501 crore have been announced by Finance Minister of State, Shri Jayant Malaiya for skill development, which was 61 per cent more than the last year’s budget allocation.

On the occasion, it was informed that orders have already been issued to impart training to 47,580 youths, which have to be trained this year through government institutes under the Mukhya Mantri Koushal Samvardhan and Koushalya Yojana. These institutes include ITIs, Polytechnics and Engineering Colleges. Similarly, 25,750 youths have to be trained through non-government institutions.

Besides, it was informed that a target of 1.56 lakh has been fixed for the private training service providers this year. Out of this, the training of 1,00482 youths will begin from March 15.

Furthermore, it was informed that the state has a target to impart training to 84,058 youths by 2020 under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. Out of this, 25,000 youths have to be trained this year.

Additional Chief Secretary Finance AP Shrivastava, Principal Secretary Technical Education Sanjay Bandopadhyay and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
