Andhra Government sanctioned Rs 25 crore for skill training to SCs in West Godavari : L&E Minister

Eluru : Minister for labour and employment P. Satyanarayana said that the state government had sanctioned Rs 25 crore to provide training on skill development to the SCs in West Godavari.

Taking part in 127th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr B. R. Ambedkar here on Saturday, the minister stated that the state government had been initiating a series of programmes to help the SCs undergo training to enhance their skills and find employment to realise self-sustenance. The minister distributed assets worth about Rs 100 crore to the beneficiaries on the occasion.

Maintaining that the state government had allocated Rs 11,228 crore under SC Sub-Plan for 2018-19, he listed out a series of welfare schemes initiated for the benefit of SC and ST students including financial assistance worth Rs 10 lakh to pursue higher studies abroad and loan with subsidy to set up industrial units.

The minister announced that the brides belonging to SC, ST and BC communities would get wedding gift in the form of financial assistance. For SCs, the assistance would be Rs 40,000 and for BCs, Rs 30,000 and for minorities, Rs 45,000 would be given.
