TechnoServe is looking for the post of Deputy Director

Position: Deputy Director ( Reporting to : Country Director )

Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra

Eligibility Requirements:
Educational Qualification: Post Graduation in Business, Agriculture or Rural Development
Experience: 25+ years of experience with at least 15 years of senior management
— Experience in organizations of repute with an excellent track record of leadership in such organizations.
— Experience of managing as counterparts senior functionaries in Governments, bi-lateral/multi-lateral organizations such as ADB, World bank, DFID, USAID, IFC etc and/or the corporate sector.
— Experience of working with and intimate understanding of the functioning of multi-lateral organizations would be an added plus.

Skills required: 
—Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated ability to undertake field research, synthesize data and lead problem solving and program design
— Excellent written and oral communication skills
— Flexibility to travel extensively
— Strong exposure to inclusive business/Consulting /Social enterprise/Impact investing spaces

Skills in-person:
— An intellectual leader with strategic thinking, fine communication, strong analytical and influencing skills.
— Skills in mentoring and advising a wide variety of teams
— Ability to set goals and device means to achieve them
— Strong business acumen and an ability to quickly grasp complex issues across the agriculture and livelihoods space.
— Good understanding of business practices in firms consulting to corporations and/or multilaterals and/or government
— Domestic travel upto 60 %; International Travel – as per requirement

Responsibilities & Results:
The Deputy Director would directly report to the country director and work closely with the TechnoServe India office and the Development division at TechnoServe’s headquarters in the U.S. Specific tasks would include (but not limited to):
— Leading strategy development for TechnoServe programs in specific geographies and thematic areas
— Providing mentorship and leadership support on large-scale development programs within India as well as those that have an international interface.
— Ensuring overall timeliness and quality of deliverables across TechnoServe’s portfolio of projects.
— Ensuring robust monitoring, evaluation and learning systems for all projects reporting to this position.
— Conducting diligence and gap analysis and leading program design for emerging opportunities
— Cultivating and supporting relationships with domestic and international donors and partners
