Position: Consultant for Doing Teacher Training in Primary Schools in Delhi

Location: Delhi

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Educational Qualification: 
— The consultant must be a doctorate or have advanced studies in education.
— The consultant occupies a senior leadership position as a trainer in a reputed organization.
— The consultant should have rich expertise and insights on developing and imparting teacher trainings in under-resourced government schools across different geographies.

Experience: 
— The consultant has a diversified experience on good practices in imparting quality education on the national canvas and international arena.
— The consultant must have prior experience of working with leading international NGOs.

Skills required: The consultant must have good ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.

Job Description: 
> Proposed deliverables of the consultant:
— Develop a training manual for teachers to strengthen quality education at schools
— To conduct teacher training for 100 teachers and 25 school administrators at 5 partner project sites.

> The broad content of the training manual will be as follows:
— Introduction and objectives of the manual
— Strategies for teachers on multi- level teaching.
— Strengthen the existing capacities of the teachers on continuous comprehensive assessment.
— Share ideas to integrate children with special needs at the school for instance children who are slow learners and children suffering from autism.
— Share strategies for involvement of parents
— Share resources to be used as teaching learning material to enrich classroom transactions. It can be both online and offline resources

6. Teacher training – 5 teacher trainings of 2 days each

Role of Plan NGO:
— Provide technical expertise to develop the material.
— Develop terms of reference of the contract.
— Orient the Consultant on doing the branding of our work.

Working Group of the consultant: The consultant will work closely with Plan India, Delhi partners, School teachers. The consultant will sign the child protection policy before commencing the work.

Role of Partner: Plan India will retain the copyright of the manual developed by the consultant.

Remuneration: Salary range in this position is commensurate to industry standards and will be determined based upon the experiences and fixed as per the HR policies of the organization.

Plan India, through its fourth Country Strategic Plan will work towards Improved holistic learning and quality education (pre-primary to secondary education) in 3,000 ECCE/Anganwadi centres and 3,000 schools directly benefiting one million children in the age group of 3-18 years in 3,000 villages and urban slums; along with 4 million children supported through ECCE/Education system advocacy and policy influence actions.

Common Minimum Programs (CMP) under quality and holistic education

— All girls & boys below 6 years in Plan operational areas have access to developmentally appropriate responsive care & learning opportunities at home and child care centers.
— To improve access & quality of formal schooling for all children, especially the most marginalized in Grades 1-8.
— To improve access & quality of formal schooling for all children, especially the most marginalized for grades 9-10.
