Position: Director – Communication
Responsible for: Three direct reports (covering Brand and Marketing; Digital; Media Relations; Creative Services) and a total team size of approximately 7 people
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Educational Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Mass Communication with 12+ years of experience
— Minimum 5 years of experience of leadership, line management and development of teams.
— A strong track record in marketing and communications, ideally gained with both commercial and non-profit organizations. This should include the development and launch of major integrated marketing campaigns and being fully versed in latest digital developments.
— Strong experience of building effective relationships and managing third party suppliers.
— Proven ability in the development of marketing and communications strategy and delivery of operational plans.
— Creative and entrepreneurial -ability to identify and develop new marketing and communications opportunities and partnerships.
Job Overview: To develop and implement an effective Marketing and Communications strategy and accompanying business plans to significantly grow awareness and the supporter base of Smile Foundation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
— Responsible for planning, development, implementation and evaluation of all of the Organization’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal.
— Lead the Marketing and Communications teams, ensuring that agreed marketing and communication objectives and plans are achieved.
— Work closely with the Internal Communications and Media team to ensure alignment and consistency of internal and external communications plans and messages
— Ensure articulation of Organization’s desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external.
— Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all Organization publications and creative resources to support all key fundraising, marketing and communications activity across the organization.
— Support the management of critical stakeholders for the organization, as well as the holding of special events and corporate tie ups.
— Oversee the management of relationships with press and media representatives to increase and influence positive press and media coverage of the organization. Represent Smile Foundation to external audiences as required
— Lead on the development and maintenance of relationships with external marketing agencies and suppliers, including ensuring SLAs are all in place and regular supplier reviews are undertaken.
— Lead on development and delivery of digital platforms in line with Smile Foundation organizational strategy.
— As a member of the senior management team for Smile Foundation, work closely and collaboratively with colleagues across the organization to contribute to the achievement of organization’s objectives.
