About Arc:

Ark is a charity which runs a network of 40 schools in deprived inner city areas of the UK. In India, Ark runs a primary school in Lajpat Nagar III, in partnership with SDMC.

We opened our first school in Delhi (Lajpat Nagar III) in July 2015, working in partnership with the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) of Delhi. Ark is the first international partnership school operator in India and the first ever operator to work with a government agency to open a school for public benefit in the Delhi NCR region. From 9 students in Kindergarten and Grade 1, we quickly increased the enrolment to 120 within the first month itself and have expanded our capacity this year to 230 to meet the demand across KG, Grade 1 and Grade 2.

Through our work in Delhi, we have demonstrated a new and effective model of non-selective, fee-free education for India. We have developed a school that is highly regarded within the community it serves and by the government. We have witnessed positive improvements in student achievement and attendance, and have been able to address issues such as malnutrition and poverty, which are significant barriers to learning for children in India. Our success is a result of our history of running successful education ventures in India and our team of competent staff with the required technical expertise.
