Position: KMC Nurse Trainer – KMC Project

Location: Uttar Pradesh

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Educational Qualification: BSc degree in Nursing from an INC recognized institution.
Experience: About two years of clinical experience as a Nurse.

Skills required:
— Basic communication skills in English; advanced communication skills in Hindi.
— Working knowledge of MS Office suite and internet.
— Ability to lead from the front.
— Knowledge related maternal and neonatal healthcare protocols.
— Knowledge of Health Management Information System.
— Excellent interpersonal skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:
— Responsible for expanding the footprint of the KMC study and tracking its progress.
— Mentoring healthcare workers in the KMC processes and developing KMC champions.
— Develop strong professional relationship with government healthcare authorities.

Remuneration: The selected KMC Nurse Trainer will be offered a monthly salary in the range of INR 40,000 to 45,000 based on clinical experience and performance in the selection process

Note:
— The KMC Nurse Trainer position requires extensive traveling within the state of Uttar Pradesh.
— All selected KMC Nurse Trainers will be trained for 3 weeks in protocols related to the KMC project

CEL has a rich history of conducting complex community-based public health trials with leading institutions, such as Stanford University, Harvard University, the WHO, and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and has won several Grand Challenges innovation awards.

Recognizing the need for sustainable community-centric development models that go beyond short-term research trials, CEL is now undergoing a reorganization process to better align its services to the long-term healthcare needs of the community.

To attain such an operating model, the organization is looking to hire bright young nurses for the KMC project, who will bring in fresh thinking and a passion to work towards the betterment of maternal and child healthcare in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The KMC Nurse Trainer should have a basic understanding of the Kangaroo Mother Care processes. She will work towards embedding KMC in line with CEL’s vision across the state of Uttar Pradesh as an integrative healthcare intervention. KMC Nurse Trainer will be a clinical nurse practitioner who has experience and expertise in the management of maternal and child healthcare. She should be amicable, friendly and approachable by nature. The KMC Nurse Trainer will be responsible for hand-holding the FLWs at the community level. This position requires excellent people skills.  This position reports in to the Program manager, KMC and works in close association with the LMS team.
