Country’s First Fly Ash Incubation, Research and Skill Development Centre to come up at Koradi


Nagpur : State Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Wednesday performed bhoomipujan (groundbreaking) of country’s first Fly Ash Industrial Cluster at Waregaon (Khaparkheda) and Fly Ash Incubation, Research and Skill Development Centre (Koradi).

Speaking on the occasion, Bawankule said that maximum utilization of flay ash in cement industries and brick kilns is being stressed for reducing carbon emission. “Employment generation is being given a boost by industries run under fly ash clusters that are being erected at Koradi and Khaparkheda. These clusters will be completed by December 2017,” the minister said.

Other dignitaries present on the occasion include Ramtek MP Krupal Tumane, MLA Krishna Khopde, Adv Sulekha Kumbhare, Mahagams Managing Director Shyam Wardhane, NIT Chairman Dr Deepak Mhaisekar, Mahagenco Director Chandrakant Thotve, Vikas Jaideo, Santosh Amberkar, Executive Director Vinod Bondre, Kailash Chirutkar, Director Sudhir Paliwal, Chief Executive Officer Kiran Mathurkar, Khairi sarpanch Kavita Admane and others.

Bawankule further said that the policy prepared by State Government regarding usage of fly ash has been appreciated at Central level as well. This policy will be implemented across the country. 12,000 contractual workers of Mahagenco will be provided houses under Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana, he said.

Mahagams Managing Director Shyam Wardhane said that clusters are being developed at Koradi and Khaparkheda for flay ash-based industries. Such kind of cluster will be the first in the country. Policy for maximum utilization of fly ash has been formulated as the usage of fly ash is need of the hour. Space at all the seven thermal power plants in the state has been determined for fly ash clusters. Industries at these places will be accorded D+ status. These clusters will give boost the employment generation, Wardhane said.
