FICCI invites applications for the post of CEO for Chemical and Petrochemicals sector skill council (CPSSC)

Organization: Chemical and Petrochemicals sector skill council (CPSSC)

Position: Project Manager
Reporting to: Governing Body, Chemical & Petrochemicals Sector Skill Council

Location: New Delhi

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Educational Qualification: Post graduation/ Full-time PG in Management/MBA. Additional qualification with degrees in Chemicals/ International Trade/Process engineering will be preferred.

— Total experience of 15 years or more with 10 years of experience in handling a team.
— Minimum 10 years experience of working with/ in chemical/petrochemical industry, experience in building partnerships, projects involving stakeholders from industry-academia-government and capacity building in the related fields is preferable

Skills required: 
— An in-depth understanding of organization building and skill scenario in chemical and petrochemical sector is important and desirable.
— Knowledge and Experience in the skills sector will be an added advantage.
— Understanding of Chemicals and petrochemicals sectoral business ecosystem including skill demand & supply scenario,
— Networking and the ability to keep the stakeholders engaged
— Passionate about position Chemicals & Petrochemicals sector as a career option.

Job Overview: The objective of the role is to lead and manage the Chemical Sector Skills Council. The person has to work towards operationalizing and achieving the business plan and assist the Governing Body in formulating a strategy for enhancement of skills and manpower capabilities in the chemicals-petrochemicals Industry.

Roles and Responsibilities:
> Overall Strategy
— Develop Strategy for the Council in line with the Vision set by the key stakeholders and execute the vision by developing strong processes for Strategy, People and Operations for meeting business goals and SLAs from NSDC
— Support Governing Council by adhering to SLAs and project milestones
— Identify skill development needs for the Industry and create a skill development strategy that would positively impact business metrics across the sector

> Business Development
— Expand industry stakeholder engagement
— Plan develop and implement strategies for generating resources and guiding business model to attain the self-sustainability of the organization
— Develop a partnership strategy, identify and establish partnerships (national and international) to augment the effectiveness and impact of CPSSC
— Engaging employers in shaping education and workforce development in ‘Chemical and Petrochemical Sector ‘
— Promote skill council Accreditation, examination and certification among various VTPs including employers, besides promoting academies of excellence.
— Ensure acknowledgment from employers of the impact of skill development on business outcomes and improvement in growth.

> Operations
— Develop and deliver short-term and long-term goals set by the authorized committee both Financial and Non-financial.
— Develop a well-structured Labour Market Information System
— Standardization of affiliation, accreditation and certification process
— Identification of skill development needs and preparing a catalog of skill types
— Develop a sector skill development plan and maintain skill inventory
— Keeping the organization well-resourced in terms of finance, knowledge, partnerships and implementation capabilities
— Create and manage the budget functional & operational

> Quality Assurance
— Set up a Quality Assurance System for development of Standards, Curriculum, Assessments, and Certification.

> Leadership, HR and Team Management
— Map the competency of the team members and develop capabilities to carry out various functions effectively
— Coach and mentor the team members for enhanced and sustained performance.
— Ensure policies, processes and support mechanisms are in place to ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory and other codes of work and ethics
