Background about the Department : RMSA (Vocational Education)
A flagship scheme of Ministry of HRD, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyaan (RMSA) was launched in March, 2009 with the objective to enhance access to secondary education and to improve its quality. Specifically, objectives of the centrally sponsored scheme of Vocationalization of secondary and higher secondary education, which is part of RMSA, are (i) to enhance the employability of youth through demand driven competency based modular vocational courses, (ii) to maintain their competitiveness through provisions of multi-entry multi-exit learning opportunities and vertical mobility/ interchangeability in qualifications, (iii) to fill the gap between educated and employable and (iv) to reduce the dropout rate at the secondary level.
Under the aegis of MoU between Department of Education (RMSA- Govt. of Maharashtra) and Lend A Hand India, the selected candidate will be part of Lend A Hand India’’s team and will be deputed at the office of RMSA- Dept. of Education, Mumbai
Note: The consulting contract will be between the candidate and Lend A Hand India and NOT between the candidate and RMSA-Dept. of Education,Mumbai.
Job Description:
This position is responsible to coordinate the vocational education project as part of RMSA (Maharashtra). The consultant will assist RMSA to develop a strategic roadmap to execute the project, coordinate with the field staff monitoring and tracking, manage data collection, coordinate with external parties (NSDC, Sector Skill Councils, Vocational Training Providers, PSSCIVE etc.) for successful delivery of vocational education project under RMSA in the state
Qualification:
- 3-5 years of work experience (private sector/social enterprise/implementation of government schemes)
- Proven interest and track record in the area of skill development
- Past experience of working with government agencies, especially at the state level, a must
- Management consulting experience preferred but not a must
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Project management experience a must
- Past experience of working with senior management
- Excellent computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
