Lend A Hand India requires to deploy Consultants (Vocational Education) at various state governments

Designation: Consultant (Vocational Education) – Dept of Education (RMSA), State Government.

Reporting to: State Project Director – Rashtriya Madhymik Shiksha Abhiyaan (RMSA), Dept of Education of the respective state.

Locations: Pan India (1) Bhopal (2) Chennai (3) Delhi (4) Dehradun (5) Hyderabad (6) Jaipur (7) Mumbai (8) Pune (9) Srinagar (10) Vijaywada

Travel: 25% within state

Job Description: This position is responsible to coordinate the vocational education project as part of RMSA. The consultant will assist RMSA to develop a strategic roadmap to execute the project, coordinate with the field staff monitoring and tracking, manage data collection, coordinate with external parties (NSDC, Sector Skill Councils, Vocational Training Providers, PSSCIVE etc.) for successful delivery of vocational education project under RMSA in the state.

Eligibility Requirement:

  • 3-5 years of work experience (private sector/social enterprise/implementation of government schemes)
  • Proven interest and track record in the area of skill development
  • Past experience of working with government agencies, especially at the state level
  • Management consulting experience preferred but not a must
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English and the official language of the state)
  • Project management experience a must
  • Past experience of working with senior management
  • Excellent computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

Background about the Rashtriya Madhymik Shiksha Abhiyaan (RMSA):

RMSA was launched in March, 2009 by Ministry of HRD with the objective to enhance access to secondary education and to improve its quality. Specifically, objectives of the centrally sponsored scheme of Vocationalisation of secondary and higher secondary education, which is part of RMSA are (i) to enhance the employability of youth through demand driven competency based modular vocational courses, (ii) to maintain their competitiveness through provisions of multi-entry multi-exit learning opportunities and vertical mobility/ interchangeability in qualifications, (iii) to fill the gap between educated and employable and (iv) to reduce the dropout rate at the secondary level.

Under the aegis of the proposed / signed MOU between Department of Education (RMSA of the respective state) and Lend A Hand India, the selected candidate will be part of Lend A Hand India’s team and will be deputed at RMSA as part of the state level PMU to manage the implementation of scheme of vocational education in the respective state/locations.
