About Aajeevika Bureau:

Aajeevika Bureau, headquartered in Udaipur, is a non-profit trust registered in 2005 with a vision “to become a leading agency towards ensuring secure, dignified lives of communities dependent on labor and migration”.  Aajeevika Bureau operates through a network of walk-in centres and offers services and solutions to seasonal migrant workers and their families. These centres are based at the source (in Rajasthan) and destination (in Gujarat)
Aajeevika Bureau has promoted the Skill Training Employability and Placement (STEP) Academy – a full-scale initiative to energize, employ and empower vulnerable migrant youth and help them secure sustainable livelihood options.  Situated in Udaipur, the STEP Academy provides training and placement support to youth mobilized from rural as well as urban locations across Rajasthan and Gujarat. STEP also runs two satellite training centres in rural clusters of Dungarpur and Udaipur districts.
STEP Academy has emerged as a dedicated space for youth from low-income families who cannot, on their own, access vocational skills. A unique initiative, driven to mainstream thousands of tribal youth and youth with limited resources STEP Academy has now come to be acknowledged and recognized by the youth for its unique curriculum and targeting. Since the inception of Aajeevika Bureau in 2005 over 7000 rural youth have undergone trainings organized by the STEP Academy.
STEP Academy’s new initiative is a full programme aimed primarily at young tribal women to help them acquire Non-Traditional Livelihood (NTL) skills. The idea is to identify, counsel, train and assist young women to become well versed in construction, light engineering and mechanical skills and re-enter the market as skilled workers or entrepreneurs. In particular we are trying to break the barriers facing women in the labour market so that they have wider opportunities, greater access and higher incomes.
