Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Educational Qualification: Economics degree from reputable university, or experience relevant to project (journalism, public policy etc)
Experience:
— 7 – 15 years
— Project management experience, likely from management consulting, think tank or similar
— Experience from engagement of civil society groups, sector experts and/or policy makers at state level (preferably in Andhra Pradesh or Rajasthan)
Skills required:
— Self-motivated, ambitious
— English essential (Hindi and Telugu a bonus)
— Flexible work hours and travel
— Must be able to keep pace and perform in an environment without constant direct supervision.
Job Overview: Opportunity for skilled Project Managers to work with the top-ranked economics think tank Copenhagen Consensus Center in collaboration with the Tata Trusts. Positions are currently available with a near term flexible start date and will last for approximately 18 months. Follow-on positions are also possible in the organization.
Job Description:
This particular projects, Andhra Pradesh Priorities or Rajasthan Priorities, take the Center’s cost-benefit methodology for identifying and prioritizing high-yielding policy solutions to the state level for maximum impact. We are inviting applications for several roles covering project management, research management, fundraising, outreach, advocacy, communications.
We are looking for candidates who are intelligent, ambitious and have a passion for economics and smart policy solutions. A high level of motivation and excellent communication skills are required to manage a Copenhagen Consensus project. All major domestic and international stakeholders will be engaged to include the highest levels of the government, domestic and international development organizations, the top private sector companies, civil society and the general populace. The Project will include commissioning research, coordinating top economists and sector experts, working with Nobel Laureates, and managing the research process to final publication, top media representatives and other high ranking people. In addition, there will be on- going fundraising, reporting to donors, fostering relationships, and establishing high-level media engagement and partnerships.
Flexibility to work on multiple work streams, a natural aptitude for organization, and deadline-driven deliverable creation are equally important in this fast-paced environment, as is the ability to handle the workload and stress implicit in projects with fixed deadlines.
