SUMMARY:GRASP 2026 - National College Hackathon
DESCRIPTION:GRASP 2026 (Grassroots AI-Based Solutions for India) — a national-level\, thinking-led AI hackathon for higher education (undergraduate and post-graduate) students\, an initiative by ASME India\, in collaboration with KRUU\, Capital Goods & Strategic Skill Council (CGSSC) and ICTAK\, a global project-based learning platform. \nGRASP is a 72-hour structured national hackathon designed to encourage clear thinking\, real-world problem solving\, and applied AI reasoning\, aligned with industry and global innovation practices. The initiative is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students across disciplines\, including engineering\, science\, healthcare\, management\, design\, and interdisciplinary programs. \nGRASP is not a coding marathon. It is a national-level AI hackathon designed to identify and reward clear thinking\, real-world relevance\, and applied AI reasoning. \nIn a world obsessed with implementation speed\, we prioritize the “Why” and the “How”. GRASP mirrors how ideas are evaluated in global innovation ecosystems.  \n\n\nThe Repository. 4 Strategic Domains.\n\n\n\n\n\nAI for Social GoodEmpowering underserved communities through inclusive AI design\, focused on bridging the digital divide in rural India. \n\n\n\nAI for MedicineBridging the specialist gap with diagnostic and predictive AI\, specifically tailored for resource-constrained clinics. \n\n\n\n\n\nAI for EducationHyper-personalizing learning for 250 million students. Solving for regional language barriers and cognitive accessibility. \n\n\n\nApplied EngineeringSolving logistics\, infrastructure\, and manufacturing hurdles at scale using vision\, sound\, and motion data. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Methodology\n\n\n\nGRASP moves beyond unstructured sprints. All teams must complete the full stack of mandatory worksheets designed to surface depth of reasoning and reduce articulation bias. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nProblem Framing: Stakeholders\, relevance\, and root cause.\n\n\n\nContext & Constraints: Technical\, social\, and India-specific hurdles.\n\n\n\nSolution Direction: AI approach rationale and alternatives.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSystem Design: Architecture and logical decision flow.\n\n\n\nThinking Audit: Assumptions\, failure modes\, and missed data.\n\n\n\nImpact & Feasibility: Beneficiaries and realistic next steps.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho could participate?\n\n\n\n\nUndergraduate and postgraduate college students across India from Engineering\, science\, healthcare\, management\, design\, and interdisciplinary programs\n\n\n\nTeams of exactly three (3) students\n\n\n\n\nProgram Schedule\n\n\n\n5 February 2026Program Launch– National announcement– Registrations open– Domains and evaluation philosophy sharedRegistration Details– Teams register under a preferred domain– Cross-disciplinary teams encouraged– One submission per team6 February 2026Kick-off and Masterclasses09:00 AM – Problem Statement Reveal11:00 AM – Domain Masterclass02:00 PM – Executive Window opens6-7 February 2026Deep Design & Submission10:00 AM – System Design Sprint04:00 PM – Thinking Audit11:59 PM – Final Submission Deadline8 February 2026Evaluation & Results06:00 AM – AI-based Shortlisting02:00 PM – Jury deep-dive phase08:00 PM – Grand finale\n\n\n\nAwards & Outcomes\n\n\n\nWinner – INR 1\,00\,0001st Runner up – INR 50\,0002nd Runner up – INR 20\,0004th place – INR 10\,000Special Mention (x4) – INR 5000 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRead Full Details and Application Process\n\n\n\nEvent Website\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganized by:\n\n\n\nKRUU Edutech Private LimitedASME India \n\n\n\n\n\nPartnered by:\n\n\n\nCapital Goods & Strategic Skill CouncilICTAK
