SUMMARY:CxO Conclave 2023 by JSLPS
DESCRIPTION:Jharkhand State livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) is the nodal agency for the department of Rural Development\, Government of Jharkhand\, for effective implementation of livelihood promotion in the state. JSLPS is implementing Deendayal Antyodaya Yojna-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY) in the state of Jharkhand. \nIn line with its mandate JSLPS is going to organize a Conclave in Tamil Nadu with an objective to take the skilling eco-system of the State to the next level. \nThe conclave would deliberate upon industry requirement of current & future skills\, explore placement opportunities\, retention challenges and to find out appropriate skilling modules which would ensure better livelihoods for the rural youth. We expect the outcome of the CxO conclave would not only enhance the better livelihood options for the rural youth of Jharkhand but also facilitate the industry to get the quality manpower they are looking for. I am confident that\, in this event\, we will jointly address all the above listed points\, set priorities\, and strategize to create the best skill ecosystem in Jharkhand. \n \n\n\nTimeTopicSpeaker10:30 – 11:00 AMRegistration11:00 – 11:10 AMWelcome Speech and Agenda SharingSPM – Skills and Jobs11:10 – 11:20 AMIntroductory SpeechCEO\, JSLPS11:20 – 11:30 AMKeynote Address IDirector\, MoRD11:30 – 11:45 AMKeynote Address IISecretary\, RDD\n\n\n\nTea Break : 11:45 AM – 12:00 NOON \n\n\n\n12:00 – 12:45 PM Panel Discussion I – Emerging Trends in Skill Development & The Future of WorkThere has been a global shift in the workforce with a range of jobs coming up and traditional employment giving way to these. The Fourth Industrial Revolution is giving way to the modern technology transforming the skills sector. The skills relevant at present are likely to be redundant in the coming future and hence\, upskilling is the need of the hour. The current workforce in the country is not prepared to deal with these changes with more than half of the prospective professionals failing to meet the employability requirements. Talent shortage of 29 million by 2030 is anticipated by The International Labour Organization. This gap will affect a lot of industries and businesses and the country will face acute shortage of skilled manpower. This session will deliberate on the emerging trends in the industry\, the requirements and how the skilling landscape is being affected by it and is evolving based on the current demands.Welcome remarks by the Moderator(Technical Support Agency-Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society)Panel DiscussionGovernment OfficialsIndustry ExpertTech ExpertSector Skill CouncilSector Skill Council Q&AClosing Remarks12:45 – 01:30 PM Panel Discussion II- Upskilling and Reskilling: Strategies for Effective Skill Development With the changing workforce scenario and rise in automation and Al\, there will be about 133 million new roles as per World Economic Forum. These job roles would require new sets of knowledge and skills\, thus bringing forth the need for upskilling and reskilling.Upskilling means helping and teaching the employees ‘new skills’ and develop new competencies to close the talent gaps and equip them to perform better in their current roles. Reskilling is about switching roles and promoting lateral learning to help people move onto new job roles within the organization. These two new strategies must be adopted for developing new competencies and in this session\, the panelists will be discussing about the adoption of these strategies for skill development in the evolving job scenarios and in-demand skills.Welcome remarks by the Moderator(Official-Government of Jharkhand)Panel DiscussionGovernment OfficialsGovernment OfficialsIndustry ExpertIndustry ExpertSector Skill CouncilSector Skill CouncilQ&AClosing Remarks\n\n\n\nLunch : 01:30 PM – 02:30 PM \n\n\n\n02:30 – 3:15 PM Panel Discussion III- The Role of Government in Promoting Skill Development and Workforce ReadinessSkilling sector is constantly growing and in the coming years\, it has become imperative to lay emphasis on the nation-wide programs for skill building. According to the World Trade Organization\, the GDP level of India can increase by 305% by 2035 if the focus in on skill development and training as out of the youth entering the workforce every year\, more than 70% are not job ready. With the new job roles\, this gap is going to widen if the strong measures to bridge the skill gaps re not undertaken. To enhance the employability of its youth\, empower them and provide them with a safe future\, it is necessary that education and skill development go hand in hand. The government has a vital role to play and\, in this session\, the panelists will deliberate upon some of the measures which can be undertaken by the government to promote skill development in terms of: policy interventions\, infrastructure developments\, industry linkages\, demand creation for skilling\, improving participation of private sector in skilling and strong and robust M&E mechanisms for informed decision making.Welcome remarks by the Moderator (Technical Support Agency JSLPS)Panel DiscussionGovernment OfficialsGovernment OfficialsGovernment OfficialsSector Skill CouncilCXO-PIAIndustry Expert Q&AClosing Remarks03:15 – 04:00 PM Panel Discussion IV – “Bridging the Skills Gap: Strategies to improve placement & retentionThe Skill India Mission has led to the provision of trained workforce for the country by preparing the youngsters through training. However\, in the face of changing and evolving new roles\, it is imperative that skill development needs to be aligned with new technologies such as Al\, machine learning\, advance biosciences etc. to build a future ready workforce. The gig economy\, demographic and social shifts are together defining a ‘future of work’ affecting the companies\, workers and supply chains. There need to be catering to industry demand and include not only technical know-how but also must include soft skills\, behaviors\, mindset trainings and digital literacy that enables the youth to be more agile\, receptive and resilient. This can be done through mentoring\, coaching\, adopting hybrid models\, promoting apprenticeships and developing industry linkages as it will not only enhance learning but will also promote retention and employee engagement. The other strategy could be to improve women participation in the non-traditional roles and promote STEM education to ensure that the industry requirements of trained workforce to work in different shifts are met. In this session\, the panelists will dwell upon the strategies to improve placement and retention and methods to bridge the existing skill gaps.Welcome remarks by the Moderator (Industry Expert)Panel DiscussionPanel DiscussionModrator – Industry ExpertCXO-PIAGovernment OfficialEmployerEmployer Q&AClosing Remarks\n\n\n\n04:15 – 04:30 PMFelicitation of Skill Icons04:30 – 04:45 PMFelicitation of Project Implementing Agencies04:45 – 05:00 PMFelicitation of Employers05:00 – 05:15 PMWadhwani Foundation05:15 – 05:30 PMClosing Remarks and Vote of Thanks by COO JSLPS\n\n\n\nHigh Tea and Networking : 05:30 PM onwards \n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Date and Time (IST)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Organizer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Date and Time (IST)\n\n\n\nLe Meridien762\, Avinashi Rd\, Cexus Nagar\, Neelambur\, Tamil Nadu 641062Get Directions

SUMMARY:13th Global Skills Summit by FICCI
DESCRIPTION:Theme: Education to Employability – Making it Happen\n\n\n\nOverview >>>\n\n\n\nThe 13th edition of Global Skills Summit’s theme ‘Education to Employability – Making it Happen’ would focus on easing the education to employability transition for the youth of our country. After 34 years since the launch of the National Policy of Education in 1986\, the new National Education Policy -2020 envisions to have a learning ecosystem that is second to none. Currently\, Our nation is at the cusp of leveraging demographic dividend\, disruptive technologies and changing World of Work. The Summit would look from the NEP lens and focus on how India can become the “Skill Capital of the World” keeping the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) as an underpinning theme. \n\n\n\nThe NEP 2020 has set the goal of exposing at least 50% learners of the school and higher education systems to vocational education. The onus of “Making it happen” lies not only on the Government of India’s initiatives but also on the collaborative efforts of Industry\, Academia\, Philanthropies\, Foundations\, NGOs and Social Sector Organisations. A joint effort by all the stakeholders will prepare the youth of our country in making India rich before we get old.   Technology will play a key role in being the strongest enabler of this transition. One of the areas of key deliberation will be the emergence of competency based skilling\, a national credit framework and the role of national curriculum framework. The E2E transition would need considerable support from National and International organisations in building capacities and gaining perspectives.   We look at employability as a critical skill to create sustainable livelihoods. The Summit will also see discussions on encouraging Entrepreneurship\, Apprenticeship and Craftsmanship. It will bring together key stakeholders to deliberate upon strategies and share best practices that helps India in developing a 21st century skills ecosystem. There will be discussions on financing models of Indian TVET and a deep dive deliberation on how a robust financing system can truly support the Education to Employability Transition in India. The two day Summit will conclude with a celebration event “VIRASAT” The Heritage which honours and recognises the exquisite craft of the Indian artisans.   We welcome you all to be a part of this revolution and engage with more than 400 participants including policymakers\, industry leaders\, state and central government officials\, training partners\, representatives of multilateral & bilateral agencies\, and students. \n\n\n\nAgenda >>>\n\n\n\nDay 1: Tuesday September 27\, 2022Venue: Commission Room- FICCI\, Federation House\, New Delhi\n\n\n\n09:15am – 10:15amRegistration10:15 am – 11:30 amPanel Session 1: Skilling in Schooling and Schooling in Skilling10:15 am – 10:20 amWelcome RemarksShri RCM Reddy\, MD & CEO\, Schoolnet India Limited and Learnet Skills Limited10:20am – 10:30amSpecial AddressShri Atul Kumar Tiwari\, Secretary\, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship11:30 am – 12:00 pmTea Break\n\n\n\n12:00pm – 01:00pmSpecial Session with Hon’ble Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship12:00pm – 12:07pmWelcome AddressMr Subhrakant Panda\, Senior Vice President\, FICCI & MD\, Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA)©12:07pm –12:17pmTheme AddressMr Manish Sabharwal\, Chair\, FICCI Skill Development Committee (SDC) and Chairman & Co-Founder\, Teamlease Services Ltd. ©12:17pm – 12:25pmSpecial AddressMr Ashutosh Gupta\, Country Manager\, India at LinkedIn12:25pm – 12:35pmVision AddressMr T.V. SUMMARY:Launch Event of Study on “THE INCLUSION JOURNEY : Integrating Persons with Disabilities in the Hospitality and Quick Service Restaurant Sector in India”
DESCRIPTION:According to WHO\, every 10-15 out of 100 live with some form of disability around the world and every 2-4 are severely disabled. People with disabilities continue to be marginalized due to lack of many supportive environmental factors\, unequal employment opportunities\, lack of supportive policies\, etc. \nILO says unemployment among the persons with disabilities is as high as 80 percent in some countries.1 This leads to 5-7% of loss in GDP. Often employers assume that persons with disabilities are unable to work. This low level of inclusion is largely driven by myths around efforts and investment needed for effectively employing them and potential loss of productivity. On the contrary\, research suggests that PwDs are as good\, if not more motivated and engaged as regular employees. \nEach year\, Youth4Jobs conducts research in different sector as a part of knowledge series to explore best practices on employment of people with disabilities. The recent study being conducted in Hospitality and QSR sector in India. \nHospitality and QSR sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in India and has lead by example when it comes to innovation and change. Hospitality being one of the early sectors that employed people with disabilities\, the study captures live case studies and shows the reader how to enable inclusion of PwDs in the hospitality sector. This report is not intended to provide comprehensive solutions for all disability employment issues but attempts to encourage companies to take initial steps in becoming inclusive and disabled friendly. \nDon’t want to miss important News\, Tenders\, RFP-EOI\, Jobs\, Events\, Schemes Announcements etc.? SUMMARY:Webinar on "Skill Development: Emergence of Industry 4.0"
DESCRIPTION:Background\nWith one of the youngest populations in the world\, India has most of its population in the working age group\, with the trends showing that by 2022 63% of the population will be in the working age group. This immense potential is a tool that India could use in gaining economic strides globally. At the same instance\, the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is throwing variables into this equation\, by disrupting the job markets globally\, as businesses are adopting newer and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence\, Cloud Computing\, Internet of Things etc. \nEven in the present scenario\, the argument that there might just not be enough supply of jobs to meet the immense inflow of candidates is certainly untrue as there is much evidence against it\, such as 40% of the employers’ face trouble in filling positions for skilled roles. This shows the immense gap in the skills needed to fill the available jobs and the lack of it in the incoming workforce. With the immense workforce at its disposal\, this skill gap is what needs to be bridged to take advantage of the situation in which India currently finds itself. \nTechnological advancements have created an impactful spur in changing the global job market. The World Economic Forum (WEF) estimates that by 2022\, almost half the companies across the globe will be adopting automation in some form or the other to reduce workforce on the same tasks. As the machines take over the more routine and pattern-based jobs\, there is a higher demand for more ‘human’ skills\, and skills related to the Industry 4.0 technologies. As per WEF 2018 report\, the four specific technological advances—ubiquitous high-speed mobile internet; artificial intelligence; widespread adoption of big data analytics; and cloud technology—are set to dominate the 2018–2022 period as drivers positively affecting business growth. With platforms like SkillsBuild\, which is offered by IBM\, job seekers\, business owners\, entrepreneurs and any individual with learning aspirations can now tap into host of industry relevant content\, including Artificial intelligence\, Cloud\, Data analytics and security to re-skill and up-skill themselves\, at no cost. \nKey Highlights\n\nIndustry 4.0 – An overview\nIssues\, Challenges & Opportunities of Industry 4.0 in Skill Development\nRole of 4.0 Technologies for Up-Skilling\, Re-Skilling and Skill Development Training program\nRole and Responsibility of Government and Industry in promoting Industry 4.0 Technologies for Skill Development Training program\nEmergence of 4.0 Technologies in Skill Development & the way forward\n\nSpeakers\nDr. R S Bawa\, Pro Chancellor\, Chandigarh UniversityMr. Murugan Vasudevan\, Head\, Social Innovation\, CISCO India & South AsiaDr. M Jayaprakasan\, Joint Director\, DGT\, MSDEMr. Venkatesh Sarvasiddhi\, Senior Head\, Digital Skills and Innovation\, NSDCMr. Manoj Balachandran\, Head CSR\, IBM IndiaDr. Devraj Singh\, Vice president\, ESSCIMr. Narayanan Ramaswamy\, National Leader\, Education and Skill Development\, KPMG IndiaMr. Maninder Singh Nayyar\, Co-Chairman\, ASSOCHAMDr. Sandhya Chintala\, Executive Director\, IT-ITeS SSC\, NASSCOM \nKey Outcomes\n\nA perspective of what could be the way forward with the emergence of Industry 4.0 technologies in Skill Development while keeping in mind the future generation of our country.\nAs an output from the webinar\, we can compile\, summarize and submit the set of recommendations to the concerned Ministries on the basis of the discussions and inputs received during the webinar.\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:Webinar on Skill Development : Role of E-Learning platforms for Up-skilling and Training
DESCRIPTION:Context: \nIn the digital age\, the education sector has seen a proliferation of mobile apps and online learning platforms vying with traditional ways of teaching and of dissemination of knowledge. Technology is being used to augment the learning process in a way that overcomes many of the limitations of a classroom setting. This has been made possible\, in part\, due to the ability to engage multiple learning pathways\, personalized learning plans and real time feedback. \nWith changing times\, we have to envision an environment of blended learning to enhance the experience of its students. There is a push to increase student engagement and meet learning outcomes with online learning modules. In order to take a step in this direction\, it becomes necessary to gain an understanding of the status quo of skilling and study how other players in the field are approaching the challenge. With the lockdown on educational institutions unlikely to get over anytime soon\, the thrust on e-learning and online classrooms is at an all-time high. \nTopics to be covered: \n\nE-Learning Platforms : Trends\, Growth & Opportunities\nIssues and Challenges of E-Learning Platforms for Skill Development.\nRole of E-Learning Platforms for Up-Skilling\, Re-Skilling and Skill Development Training program.\nReadiness to provide E-Learning Platforms and digital tools for Skill Development schemes\nRole and Responsibility of Government and Industry in promoting E-Learning Platforms for Skill Development Training program.\n\nSpeakers: \n\nMs. Alka Upadhyaya – Additional Secretary\, MoRD\, Govt. of India\nMr. Jaideep Kumar Mishra – Joint Secretary\, MeitY\, Govt. of India\nMs. Anuradha Vemuri – Joint Secretary\, MSDE\, Govt. of India\nMr. Venkatesh Sarvasiddhi – Senior Head\, NSDC\nMr. Arvind Bali – CEO\, Telecom Sector Skill Council\nMr. Maninder Singh Nayyar – Co-Chairman\, ASSOCHAM National Council of Skill Development\nMr. Anand Kumar Singh – CEO\, CSDCI\nMs. Joyeeta Dad – Lead\, Education and Skilling\, IBM India\nMr. Ameya Vanjari – Head\, Technology and Innovation\, Tata STRIVE\nDr. Devraj Singh – Vice President\, ESSCI\nProf. Neela Dabir – SVE-TISS\n\nWhat You Will Get?? \n\nA perspective of what could be the role of E-Learning Platforms in Up-Skilling and training more effectively while keeping in mind the future generation of our country.\nAn opportunity to share opinion and recommendations which can be compiled\, summarized and submitted to the concerned Ministries on the basis of the discussions and inputs received during the webinar.\n\n\n\n\nClick Here to Register

SUMMARY:Different Dimensions of Skill Development
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nAccording to 2019 Employability Skills Report by British Council\, India is a fast growing economy\, which would require a large pool of workers with close to 63% working age population in the skilling pool by 2022. According to another report1\, the labor force is projected to grow by close to 2 per cent and would roughly add over 7 million per year for the next few years.  With an increased migration of the workers from the rural to the urban sectors of the economy\, India realizes that it has the need for a well thought out and executed strategy to provide a new set of skills through vocational training in order to effectively absorb this additional workforce and sustain economic growth. \nThis drives our attention to the need of the hour which is to build a robust infrastructure of trainers and training institutes for the same. To cover the widespread problem of unemployment and with an objective of creating a workforce that has improved skills\, and knowledge that can result in gaining access to decent employment and enhancing India’s competitiveness in the global labour market\, the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) was launched. \nGiven the changing world order and more so to meet the skilling needs of the future generation\, training of the present youth force have become an integral part of boosting capabilities and enhancing employment opportunities which are instrumental in building the economy and improving the society. \nKEY ISSUES\nTo foresee India as a skill capital\, we would have to: \n\nUnderstand that there is a need for an exposure to skilling which needs to start early at secondary education and should focus on building transversal skills.\nConnect vocational education to higher education and bring in more acceptability for this model from the community.\n\n\nIdentify potential of public-private partnership to ensure scale and quality.\n\n\nBlended mode of learning to cater to the complexities of jobs. There has to be a blend between online\, onsite\, on the job and on campus for comprehensive development of capabilities.\n\nSCHEDULE\n\n\nParticularsSpeaker (Name and Designation)TimeWelcome AddressMr. Maninder Singh NayyarCo-Chairman\, ASSOCHAM National Council on Skill Development15:00 – 15:05 hoursIndustry AddressMr. Ashish JainCEO\, Healthcare Sector Skill Council15:05 – 15:15 hoursIndustry AddressMs. Neela DabirDean\, SVE-TISS15:15 – 15:25 hoursIndustry AddressCol.
