SUMMARY:WorldSkills Conference 2019 "Skills for Change: Building Blocks for Impact"
DESCRIPTION:This August\, Kazan will be the skills capital of the world as the city hosts the WorldSkills Competition. 1\,600 young people from around the globe will compete to be world champions in 56 different skills. \nAlongside the Competition\, the WorldSkills Conference will take place. The agenda of the conference would be reaching to the solutions for: \n\nHow can we train an agile generation of skilled young people for the future?\nHow will they stay relevant in the face of economic\, social and technological transformations?\n\nAbout the Programme:\nAt WorldSkills Conference 2019\, industry leaders\, policy-makers\, education and training providers\, researchers\, and changemakers will turn Kazan into an international incubator for innovative solutions for change. The programme will be presented over three unique and connected tracks connecting the global megatrends to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the 2017 Youth Declaration on the Future of TVET. \nThe programme will feature three tracks to help the participants organize your time\, and maximize your experience: \nThriving Societies\nSocial stratification\, migration\, multiculturalism and changing demographics are transforming today’s societies. Skills are essential in adapting to this increasingly complex reality. Not only do skills provide equal access to opportunities for those who are marginalized\, but they also enable people to fulfill their potential and nurture their talents\, passions\, and impact. This track explores how skills can build a world where happy\, tolerant\, and equal global citizens coexist and collaborate through skills-based solutions. \nEvolving Economies\nThe fast-paced evolution of economies and industries requires skill flexibility and innovation. This track explores the global trends that shape the new reality in labour markets and paints the future portrait of human capital. The discussions will center on young people’s ability to stay agile in the face of uncertainty and on using their skills to create a more productive\, competitive and inclusive economy. \nSelf-Sustaining Ecosystems\nAs environmental concerns continue to shake our societies\, the promotion of green skills should be at the heart of the skills agenda. Young skilled people will have a pivotal role to play in the design and use of technologies and solutions for a positive environmental footprint. This track explores ways to train the next generation for “green collar jobs” that will in turn\, translate to a greener and more circular economy. \nSchedule of the Conference: To check schedule\, Click Here \nRegistration Process: Click on the link – Register

By partnering with New Zealand\, this year’s conference will provide an excellent opportunity to highlight international evidence for bench-marking policy best practice. \nThe conference also provides valuable professional development opportunities to enhance research capacity and capability in the VET sector by incorporating activities on data and research analytics\, and research practice. \nBeneficiaries: Educators\, Researchers\, Policy-makers\, Registered training organisations\, Schools and universities\, Research organisations\, Commonwealth\, state and territory education and training authorities\, Industry bodies\, Employer groups\, Not-for-profit and community associations\, Private consultants \nCall for Presentations and papers\nAbstracts for presentations and poster sessions are invited for the 2018 conference\, a trans-Tasman event combining the 27th National VET Research Conference ‘No Frills’ with the 2018 NZ VET Research Forum. \nTheme : Skills for a global future: working and learning together.\nSkills for a global future reflects the international nature of this conference and the pivotal role VET plays in preparing people for an increasingly globalised\, interconnected and rapidly changing workforce. \nWorking and learning together reflects that this conference is a collaboration between NCVER\, the Industry Training Federation and Ako Aotearoa\, including our desire to share knowledge\, ideas\, insights and solutions with each other\, and the need for all stakeholders to cooperate to ensure the success of VET in both countries. \nPresentations: Presentations that explore this theme and further our understanding of the issues it raises. They should be informative\, relevant and thought-provoking presentations that: \n\nshowcase quality research with a sound evidence base\nfocus on findings and recommendations that can be applied to the wider VET sector\nengage the audience.\n\n  \nPresentations can highlight research that is either in-progress or complete. We strongly encourage both early career and established researchers (including those who are new to VET)\, as well as employers\, industry\, providers\, and practitioners to present. \nPresentations that are thematically linked will be scheduled in streams to promote ongoing discussion among presenters and attendees around those topics. \nRefereed papers\nTo mark the first ‘international’ ‘No Frills’ conference\, in addition to standard presentations\, we are also offering the opportunity to have your paper refereed as part of the program. Following submission of your abstract\, successful applicants will be required to submit a paper for peer-review by two independent referees. This may result in your paper being published. \nWhy present? \n\ncontribute to the future of vocational education and training across global borders\npromote your research at a major international conference to researchers\, providers\, industry and government representatives\nnetwork with other international VET professionals\naccess professional development opportunities via the pre-conference workshops.\n\n  \nNCVER’s annual ‘No Frills’ conference is considered one of the best value events on the VET calendar. SUMMARY:WorldSkills Conference 2017: Skills strategies for a globalized world
DESCRIPTION:The advent of the fourth industrial revolution means that we must prepare urgently for dramatic changes to the way that we learn\, live\, and work. \nThe connectivity of cyber-physical systems is transforming the needs of society and employers — and breaking down the limits of national borders. And\, what will be the face of skills in an era without borders? \nWorldSkills Conference 2017 is the event where you can help shape the global skills agenda\, with other leading figures from industry\, governments\, international organizations\, and academia. Join these opinion formers as we explore the changing skills demands of the globalized world\, and the required response. \nMain Focus Areas include: \n• The globalization of skills and careers in an increasingly digitized world\n• The mismatch between jobs and skills\n• Labour force mobility and the constraints of existing qualifications\n• The specific challenges for skills in cities\n• Combating gender inequality in skills \nTicket Prices:\nDay 1: EUR 350\nDay 2: EUR 400\nFull Conference: EUR 700\nTicket prices include lunch\, daily refreshments\, access to the WorldSkills Competition\, access to the Conference networking lounge\, access to the WorldSkills Conference app\, and corresponding evening functions. For more information\, contact the conference team at conference@worldskills.org \nRegistration Process: Registration to WorldSkills Conference 2017

SUMMARY:National Workshop & Exhibition on Skill Challenges & Opportunities in Implementation of Instrumentation\, Automation & Surveillance in Oil & Gas and Fertilizer sector
DESCRIPTION:Objective of the Event:\nThe industry in India is upbeat currently\, with lot of new opportunities emerging with attendant challenges that need to be overcome in order to bring out operational efficiency as well as technology optimization. \nIn March 2015\, the Government of India had called for cutting India’s dependence on oil imports by 10 percent by 2022\, from as high as 77% level. India happens to be a predominately agricultural based major economy in the world. The increase in demand of fertilizer has outpaced the supply from the existing plants\, leading to substantial import of fertilizers. \nThe industry is going through a virtual paradigm shift driven to a great extent by a world-wide focus on reducing the carbon foot print. This scenario throws challenges to both the Fertilizer and the Oil & Gas Industry to address the environmental issues while achieving substantial enhancements in production. \nOil\, Gas & Fertilizer have direct and indirect linkages with a very wide cross section of users\, public and private organization. An equally important consideration is inclusion of all stake holders and their concern in the plan. \nExtensive application of modern instrumentation technologies is necessary to fulfill these objectives. In addition\, we must leverage the rapidly emerging technologies that are ushering the ‘Fourth Industrial revolution – Industry 4.0’ incorporating the internet of Things (IoT)\, Data Analytics\, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality\, Artificial Intelligence\, Machine Learning and Robotics. It is important to note that the existing workforce will need to align its skill sets to keep pace\, adapt and to thrive on the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The desirable skills include complex problem solving\, critical thinking\, creativity\, people management\, coordination\, decision making and cognitive flexibility. \nIt is felt that the workforce engaged at various layers of Oil\, Gas & Fertilizers Sector need enhancement of knowledge and training in many of the essential technologies and attributes identified above. Identification of key job roles is also an emergent need\, along with skill gap analysis and plan for ensuring the availability of such skills – through reskilling\, up skilling and appropriate training programs. \nThe IASC Sector Skill Council is mandated to focus on the skill development for Instrumentation\, Automation\, Surveillance and Broadcast Communication segments which are directly linked to the technologies mentioned above. This workshop is proposed to be jointly organized by IASC-SSC & the Industries and the attempts to bring together key stakeholders involved and to deliberate on the issues relating to identification of emerging job roles and the skilling needs of the sector. \nPosition papers\, Case studies\, Statistics\, Technical papers relating of appropriate technologies\, processes\, systems and software\, skilling and training programs and other relevant content are invited from all stakeholders and experts on the topics suggested below. \nBesides above an exhibition will also be organized\, where the exhibitor can showcase their products. \nAudience:\nAll stakeholders\, including Government agencies\, PSUs dealing with Oil\, Gas & Fertilizers\, End User Industries\, OEMs\, System Integrators and Contractors\, MSMEs\, Academicians\, Researchers\, Educators and Training Solution Providers. \nExpected Outcome:\nThe workshop is expected to identify the opportunities and challenges in the implementation of modern technologies. It will also identify the type of job roles that are likely to be needed at various levels\, as well as those job roles requiring reorientation. Alongside\, the workshop is also expected to identify the training needs\, re-skilling and up-skilling requirements for the workforce and the resources needed to realize it. \nCall for Participation:\nIn view of the short time\, it is essential to finalize and communicate well in advance to enable the overseas presenters to complete visa and travel formalities. \n\nPaper submission – up to 11 September 2017\nCommunication of acceptance – 13 September 2017\n\nAll papers are to be accompanied by: \n\nA brief profile of author along with photograph.\nA consent note allowing IASC-Sector Skill Council to publish the paper in the Journal/Souvenir of the said workshop.\n\nPapers and other related content may be mailed to: event@iascsectorskillcouncil.in \nSuggested Topics for the Workshop\nReview Papers\, Statistics\, Case Studies\, Suggestions and Policy recommendations etc. are invited which may broadly cover\, but are not limited to the following topics: \n• Real-time Data Acquisition\, Monitoring & Control\n• Automation and SCADA\n• Communication Technology for future\, IoT\n• Skill Needs and Likely Skill Gaps in Oil & Gas and Fertilizer Industry\n• Impact of Industry 4.0 on Oil & Gas and Fertilizer Industry • Challenges in creating employable skilled manpower\n• Experiences and Case studies in Energy Management\n• Experiences and Case studies in Operational Efficiency through Automation\n• Automation in process plant\, dispatch & distribution system\n• Emission control & Environment management- online measurement technique\n• Application of Robotics in Oil & Gas\, Fertilizer and Chemical Industry\n• Utility of Calibration Systems and Processes\n• Additive manufacturing (3D Printing)\n• Emerging trends in Leak detection and Fire & Gas Detection system- Regulatory requirements.\n• Use of Technology for sourcing right Skill for specific job role.\n• Role of Industries in developing Skill resources.\n• Security & Surveillance system- used in Hazardous Environment Atmosphere.\n• Other relevant topics…. \nSponsorship Opportunities: Sponsorship at National Workshop and Exhibition by IASC \nRegistration for Delegates: 14 September 2017 \nRegistration Process: Registration to National Workshop and Exhibition by IASC

SUMMARY:Summit-cum-Award on Skilling India: From Skills to Prosperity
DESCRIPTION:Overview:\nIndia has gradually evolved as knowledge – based economy due to the abundance of capable and qualified human capital. It has immense opportunity to establish its distinctive footing in the world. However\, there is a need to further develop and empower this human capital to ensure the country’s competitiveness at the global platform. Despite the emphasis and importance given to education and training across various state and sectors\, there is still a shortage of skilled manpower to address the mounting needs and demands of the economy. \nWith India transforming into one of the fastest growing economies\, job creation and skill seem to be natural tools to ensure sustainable growth. The skill gap study by the NSDC during 2010-14 indicate that by 2022\, over 109.7 million additional skilled manpower will be required across different sectors in India. In the last two years\, the number of trained Indians grew by 36.8% to reach 10.4 million in FY16. Although the Government’s interventions augur well for the cause of skills promotion\, there is no getting away from the fact that a lot more work needs to be done for the skill gaps to be closed. \nTo discuss on current scenario on Skill Development and catalyze the initiative\, ASSOCHAM is organizing “Summit-cum-Award on Skilling India: From Skills to Prosperity” \n  \nChief Guest\nShri Rajiv Pratap Rudy\, Hon’ble Minister of Skill Development And Entrepreneurship GOI \n  \nHighlights of the Summit: \n\nSkill Development: Issues and Challenges in Industry\nSkill Ecosystem – Realignment\nGlobal Skill Scenario\nFinancing Models of Skill Development Activities\nIssues & Challenges before VTP’s\, Assessing Bodies and SSCs\nSkilling to Placement: Success Story & Way Forward\n\n  \nEminent Dignitaries Invited: \n\nDr. K.P.
